Guinean Food: Let's Make Soup Sauce!

Guinean food is something that took me a while to get used to (it’s a lot of rice) but now it’s something that I crave! Take a peek at how Soup Sauce is prepared. In this video, my host family teaches me how to cook soup sauce and about some cultural practices surrounding food.

Hey Colt,
It appears you probably haven't been here for awhile.
But brother, I LOVE this video!
I lived en Guineé, au village Malinké, from 1998 to 2001.
There was no electricity, no phones, no computers, no running water…but I have some epic photos.
This harkens me back. I so miss Faranwalia (just north of Siguiri).

Yeah, I could handle rice most days. Do you get beer and/or spirits there?

When she said that they just cook for everyone and that they do not count makes me realise how much Africa in general is good for the soul ♥️

The sauce makes the difference even when you have rice everyday. You will not be tired of eating rice. There is a good variety of sauces. Good reporting and there is no pointing of the negative which is very good. Keep it up.

She saying the rice have sand that's why you have to wash it to take it out. She saying also in Africa when people cook they cook a lot food and if you go to someone home and you hungry there's food to eat. The name the soup is tomatoes stew because the meat wasn't much that is why she add the fish
