In today’s video, we’re going to explore whether heat protectants do what they say they do. Join me as I test various heat-protectant products to see if they live up…

this makes no sense 🤣🤣just be posting any ol' thing
Trying to burn sometimes you previously wetted is not a proof of the quality of any heat protectant 😂😅
You are using all different types of receipts from different stores. Not all thermal printer paper is the same grade smh
Well, it's paper, and your hair is a different texture. So, there are some flaws here.
What product showed u with the best result?
Could barely see the products you tested.
liquid will boil when u heat it causing bubbles in hair. i have no idea how heat protectant can do anything if you think about it logically. the way thermal receipts work is that the heat wil darken it. when you wet it it's providing a barrier to warm up first, thus once dry on the second pass it darkens. it might also be forming a barrier to the paper. but water goes INSIDE our hair which is what causes an issue once heated.
Also those are loaded with BPA so i hope you washed your hands after (when alcohol comes in contact with it it's way worse)
Total waste of my time.
Wow! Interesting!! Thanks 🙏🏽
Did u let it dry? I can’t tell if u did but if it’s still wet it’s going to burn, heat prot has to dry first before styling
you test them on hair not paper.
Thank you so much for doing this! I was shopping for a heat protectant and stopped to see what actually works.
I would like to see this tried using 375-400 degrees. I never go over 390 so I feel like it would work better on a lower temp
Can i know what is heat protectent creme? Do we apply before blowdry?
maybe use regular paper towel or a cotton towel next time because the die (ink) will lie. My grandmother tested the pressing comb on a paper towel before doing my hair. Also the heat protector is absorbed into the cuticle and air or blow dried depending on product. ..that does not mean we can overload our hair with heat and ladies use our God given common sense and keep our hair safe. I do not recommend spraying a heat protector on your hair that is water based and then flat iron your hair right away. Please make sure the product dries first. There are non water based heat protectors that may be different but I recommend a low heat blow dry or air so hair can absorb any heat protection.
White people stuff.
Another test is the Q-tip test. You did the Q-tip in the heat protectant and light the tip on fire. If it burns badly, the heat protectant does not work. If it does not burn or barely burns, then it works.
It is possible that there was residual product on the flat iron each time you tested a receipt? So the 3rd or 4th try will seem like it is protected more when it’s just more and more product.
Can u test it on plain paper? Because receipts have ink on it and when you press something there it will turn black because of the ink.
How is testing on paper same as what you’d expect on hair. The composition of both is totally different
I think its the products being used for our hair texture. Try more of the black owned brand products that make these products for our hair like mielle, shea moisture, mane choice, kaleidoscope, etc. Mielle works great
I really like color wow and it’s a 10 bc they are intended to fully wet the hair and not weigh it down.
It’s heard good things about the L’Oréal one which is also ok to fully saturate the hair.
I sprayed my hair and got some in my eye. Ugh im not using this product again.
I need you to know that she used thermal paper a special paper used for this kind of testing not regular paper you may want to repeat this with thermal paper to get an accurate representation of each product's performance ❤❤
It’s still not clear which one worked best..
Thanks so much for sharing!! Love your Selena T shirt! God bless and stay safe!🙏🏾💜🌺
I'm a straight natural (no flat iron, just blow dry only), so I love Kenra leave-in which works beautifully. I wash my hair every 2-3 weeks, and my curls come back lovely each time! 🥰
Noooo…. Not Tressame!! Seriously like no protection at all? I have like 4 bottles of it because a Walmart near me is closing so I bought 4 bottles… so disappointed. Thanks for the video and the enlightenment!
What is your go to heat protectant?
