  1. I think their introit( Elders song) was inspired by the new song sung by the Elders in heaven to the accompaniment of harps.
When you read Revelations 4:8 and 11, where we see two songs being sang, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, Almighty— the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come."
Where the verse 11 makes us understand that whenever the living beings give glory and honor and thanks to the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever),
the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever) and that they lay their crowns before the throne and say,
"You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased."

From the above scriptures we notice that, the twenty four elders sing to God of His worth as the Creator of all things.

It is only after the Lamb takes the scroll that we have the singing of the new song by the four living creatures and the 24 Elders. It is only after the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Jesus Christ) prevails that we have the singing of the new song (Rev 5:8)

In Revelation 4, songs are sung because of who God is. He is holy. He is Creator. In Revelation 5, songs are sung because of what God has done in Jesus Christ. Only after the Lamb takes the scroll are the songs of Revelation 5 sung. Only after the Lamb takes the scroll do we find the new song in heaven. The new song is sung in response to the victory of the Lamb that was slain!

The first song in Chapter 5 is found in verses 9-10 and we see it being sang by the 4 living creatures and the 24 Elders alone.
The second song is found in verses 11-12 and here, it extends to a huge number of Angels, living creatures and Elders (depicting the church).
Finally, the third song is found in verse 13 and here, we see all creatures in heaven, and on earth and under the earth sing and worship the one on the throne and the Lamb.
