Hundreds of Palestinian families have been seen leaving the eastern districts of Gaza city.
There are urgent evacuation orders from the Israeli military.
Fighting and shelling in, and near Gaza City, has intensified in the past week.
Palestinian journalist Ibrahim Al-Khalili has sent this report from the area.
