As someone who's both parents are from Argentina I can voucher for this. My father's side fled from the Ukraine at the start of World War II. By the same token, I ve met a Japanese family, that LOOK 100% Japanese that grew up in Argentina and spoke 100% Argetine-Castillian Spanish.
