  2. Article 97 of the Constitution of Ghana 1992 (Gh), provides, inter alia:

    (1) A member of Parliament shall vacate his seat in Parliament —

    (g) if he leaves the party of which he was a member at the time of his election to Parliament to

join another party or seeks to remain in Parliament as an independent member; or

    (h) if he was elected a member of Parliament as an independent candidate and joins a political

    party.

In essence, unless the Members who resigned expressly stated that their resignation would be effective upon the expiry of the term of the current Parliament, their resignations, prima facie, create vacancies with the consequence being the shifting of the balance of power with regard to which party holds the majority of seats in the House.

In the circumstances, the Speaker's decision sounds right to me.

  3. Parliament is now showcase anti LGBT bill was passed in parliament Court says wait, speaker for the house did his work according to the standing orders it is revoked by court oh akuffo addo, we have to stop wasting time to vote for our parliamentarians since the court is there to deliver these duties

  4. The anti LGBT bill standstill in court for so many months now but the verdict majority and minority has been dealt with less than two days hmmmmmm am afraid I understand something that's why only heaven knows

  5. First Post and Wion always broadcast something negative about Ghana. They always ignore the positives about black African nations and focus on the negatives just like the other Western media houses.

    We know you all

  6. Ghana is not like the Ghana that the world knew as a peaceful nation anymore under this Nana addo and bawumia's administrations 😭 they don't have what it takes to be a leaders they're just a fucking lairs arrogance thieves selfish fakers jokers 🤔 we just needs to votes them out and votes massively for Cheddar 👍🏼

  7. Very useless n stupid leaders with no vision. I really wish our parliamentarians were serving in countries like China or North Korea. Political stability cos majority of Ghanaians r cowards and would never rise to fight for their rights.

  8. I'm so glad first post did a report on this proceedings. This akuffo addo government is the worse in the history of the country. His government has immersed our country into huge debt and corruption.

  9. I am a pure Ghanaian however Ghana is not a serious country .I love Ghana but Ghana is a self _ destructive country. All that dancing is a travesty but we mostly don't practice what we say .
Ghanaians abroad don't even have our country mostly the Akans are arrogant and practice TRIBALISM especially the so called Asantes and this can well be seen in the Agyapadie document . A word to the Wise is enough. The Asantes and the Akgyems are beaten their chests claiming their superiority covertly over Ghana with their history past history which gone .What a stupid hypocritical country and that is why our first president Dr Nkrumah foresaw this and warned us about tribalism. There is a chief who claimed that he is above the laws in Ghana and that even if he offends the law nobody can question him .Funny enough is Ghana a monarchical state or a republican..What a shame .Ghana is the only country where contract killings is rampant .Come talk to me . Ghana is not a serious country.
