We American black folk cheer for Africans and want them to win so bad. We ain’t African they are the cousins we ain’t ever met before are mindsets are different we think of ourselves as one the view themselves and a whole

Would you ever consider going back to live there? Ghana is beautiful 🇯🇲🇬🇭
When I first flew to Ghana, I had a tear roll down my cheek when I first glimpsed Africa. I am a white American lady, and ended up marrying a Ghanian man. I love Ghana, but it is very different in many ways from the US. I strongly advise people go stay there for awhile before ever thinking of moving there.
Does the man know what his parents have achieved? Or his grandparents?
Lol, being black doesnt make you African…
Wow that’s a great interview and very clear and informative detailed
Africans will never understand African Americans. My ancestry is 85% West African. Yet, they don't see us as truly African.
Very sweet video, but this is how I look at this whole trying to find our roots issue. The fact we were brought here,is how we broke the pattern of our race for the better good.I have a few friends whove gone to Africa,I havent had the desire.I id myself as a black american, and proud of it.I had my racial dna done in 2018 and I come from many countries in Africa.NO ONE in my family felt a need to return to the shores of a land we dont id with. While our american experience has been complicated, I dont know any other country i ,as a female would rather live in.I feel bad for those AA who dont feel at home in the states, cause it seems they may have greater issues than trying to fit in.Self love is what they need, and with that they can be a citizen of the world and feel comfortable be it in the states,Ghana or anywhere else
Dang y’all really didn’t say to much speaking on Ghana what is the really deal tell us ur real experiences don’t beat around the bush just tell us
The algòrithm must explain why negative news of Blacks leaving Africa get half a million views while videos about Blacks leaving the US for Africa get tens of thousands of views. Is the algorithm already programmed to discourage Blacks from leaving the US to settle in Africa?
America is not for you AFrica is not for you lo….it’s you that is the problem
good bye now. ))))) good
I'm really late on this but I will say this. I love getting to know about the part of my ancestry that was locked away from me for so long. But there is a decided disconnect and its culture wise. We here in the diaspora were wrenched from that. We don't have that raise up on African soil. We are Africans of descent raised in America which is a completely different culture. But the division of African-Americans really should stop.
None of us who are African descent who live in america, asked to be born here. Not one of us.
It's the culture disconnect that makes Africans laugh at us, makes us Chase the dream of finding out who we are. That disconnect is real. But respect for the history of this should be given. Compassionate love, kindness, and a deeper understanding. Because we are just as confused. We are searching. And the fact that we even have to, when it's so much easier for people of other skin tones to go back almost what a thousand years in Trace their ancestry, we face our own problems in difficulties trying to just figure out where exactly in Africa did we come from. These things really have to be taken into the light that they live in. Not easy for African-Americans when we, those of us who are seeking, start to seek. Yes there might be some romanticization.
Why wouldn't there be?
Watch videos of people who look like us on a whole other continent, and we have nothing in common with them. But we know that we should. My African counterpart brothers and sisters, be more kind to your AA ppl are simply seeking truth as to where we come from. We need that connection. Please realize, you who were born and raised in africa, you've never not been without that connection. Peace & love ❤.
Imagine your kid when grows up and realsises you traded in the sweet life ik USA for poverty in Ghana for no other reason than some vague notion that your amcestors are from the same super massive continent about 400 years ago…lovely singing though
What is this video truly about. It is all over the place. They only gave 45 seconds for why they left and it was general. it was more about their adventures there
I studied in Ghana years ago when I was in college. I lived there for 5 months, and fell in love with the country. I could definitely live there. It's on my list of possible places to retire. But I would never plan to move to a country I hadn't yet visited, and definitely not without adequate funds and a solid plan. That was a big risk they took, but it sounds like they learned a lot and grew from the experience.
You have to leave the Lands of the Great Captivity for the right reasons… and you have to have arrived at the point of having no other option, because you'll not be able to devote 💯 to making it work. If you still regard yourself as an "African American" as opposed to an "African IN America" you'll be tempted to return.
Black folks discovered real quick that they are indeed American Indian or just American
Her music was beautiful. It didn’t seem like a total fail. Seemed like they probably returned for medical care and to have that baby in the US. Which if true would be quite ironic because the experience caused them to find value in the US also.
Like that NYC council woman said, “what did you expect. That the streets are paved with gold?” They never told you the Dutch, Danes and Brits stripped it bare? Masssa, let’s all stay in our lane cuz the grass ain’t greener anywhere. Like we say in Akan “ everywhere is here”.
Trying to find if she's got anything recorded because i just wanna listen to her sing more omg. that baby must hear the most beautiful lullabies.
Firstly, you are considered a black American, with American culture, no matter what ethnic background you identify with. Most people see money, when Americans come to their country. You are considered a Foreigner too, thus having plenty of money to them. We all know money is the answer to freedom and security, in every country on this planet. And we all know America is not perfect, but it is a place of economic opportunity for most people. So, do not expect special treatment, or assume you will not be taken advantage of. Stop looking at places with rose colored glasses, open your eyes to everyday realities.
American Black Man Here. Am I African Descent Yes but Am I African? NOPE!!! Born and raised in Los Angeles California. Both of my parents are American Black breaded from many generations here in America. Black people need to be proud to be Americans because we help build this country and overcame a lot of adversities. Only way I'll leave this country is thru death.🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Beautiful voice 😁
Black people move to Ghana expecting Wakanda. Just got a realization that you are not African you are American.
Don't they know that most west African tribes sold their captives from other tribes to the traders? I think they were never told that, in history class. Another thing Ghanaians have their own culture which is a lot different than American culture. To the Ghanaians any person from another country is a foreigner. Family , religion , tribal customs, and dress code are enforced. Dress code is very modest and strict. No showing of skin. The food is different.More like Puerto Rican and Cuban food . Beans , plantains, cassava, (yuca) grains , I think they eat rice and beans and meat. Fufu, is Cuban, Mofongo, ( pork is Puerto Rican rinds) Mangú is Dominican. All plantain dishes.
It's because you guys are obsessed with the west Africa thing and movement, Ancestry DNA, Eastern and Southern Africa are absolutely beautiful and some of the countries are way more developed and some cities are beautiful than some in overseas. E.g. some South African universities are in the top 200 in the whole world whereas you have some European and American universities in the top 10000. Access to Wifi, Healthcare, world class infrastructure, safety, etc. Wake up people and educate yourselves.
Home; the country that enslaved and sold you first.
Black American's learning that they are the racist and were the problem all along. Karma is so damn beautiful.
I think the regions are 17 with over 100 ethnic groups.
Africans and black Americans are Black people, period. But, Black Americans are not Africans because being an African has to do with a culture. Black Americans are Americans because of the culture they grow up in. Whites, blacks, jews, Latinos, Spanish, Arabs, Italians etc.. are all Americans because of the American culture they were born in. If you were born in Africa, you acquire the African culture, which makes you an African, verse verse! Just because you are black doesn't make you or understand Africa . You have to be born into it. It's a cultural thing! If you were born in America and grew up in it, you would be an American due to the American culture.
Notice the way there's zero details all feelings and they don't tell you anything about day-to-day life
This man has never seen discrimination in his life and his tune changed after coming back from Ghana and that was as a rich American in Ghana!
If you think you want to up and move to Ghana, the first thing you need to do is move out of your house and into your backyard. You’ll need to create something similar for housing. You need to make sure that you have only a micro amount of food, so go to a pantry or start a little garden and give the majority of your money away to strangers. If that life suits you, then move to Ghana
Ghana is NOT "just like Jamaica" (even 30 years ago). It's a COMPLETELY different country with completely different history, culture, social norms, religions, currency, economy and peoples.
That's a pretty offensive and neocolonialistic view, especially for someone of African descent that took effort to hide the challenges and barriers expats experience whilst masquerading as an "influencer."
I personally feel you f'd around and found out.
Dear Black folks as a Black American who has lived in. a different country please do your research ! The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence unless it's Astro Turf. Safe travels
Never Go any PLACE WITHOUT MONEY. ..CREDIT..JOB …ILL PREPARED KIDS
Black African heritage people are the most spread out globally after Europeans perhaps??. Afro-Brazilians make up 91 million followed by Afro-American that number around 47.9 million. Add Africans in Europe, South America e.g Colombia etc, Caribbean and other countries and their number could be between 150 to 200 million?

The truth is Ghana killed the liberator of Africa the same man that gained independence for them! You would have been so welcomed had De Nkrumah not been ousted by his own back stabbing people don’t forget Martin Luther king was inspired by Dr Kwame Nkrumah
You have to be self sustaining if you plan to live abroad for any extended period of time. These countries don't have social safety nets.
