  1. I honestly don't think Thandie Newton meant any harm and that she genuinely felt apologetic about how her light skin gave her certain privelidge. Her Mother is a Black woman. Maybe she felt guilty because Hollywood DID cast light skin women over dark ones. I think she may have heard in the past that Black men prefer light skin, biracial women over DSBW and sadly, it does tend to run true. I don't think she meant that SHE herself can take our Black men, I think she meant that DSBW sometimes FEEL like LSBW take all the men. As for her representing me, I still felt represented by her because I personally see her as Black. We come in so many shades, whether we're Biracial or not. There are full Black people who are Thandie's color and that's not our of the ordinary either. I do think apologizing on camera with tears like that was a mistake but I understand where she was trying to go with this.

  2. The problem is that she uses negative black stereotypes when she acts. But refuses to use the negative Asian stereotypes when acting. That’s the problem. And yes she said that

  3. Thandie is a very talented. I dont think she owes anyone an apology for her career. Also, she's not "light" skin. We need to stop the inner fighting based on levels of brown. Please stop accusing people of stealing a man you didnt have and roles you did not achieve. While you're complaining, someone else is actually applying their skill and talent and if you dont have a man, it's because of how you carry yourself and because of the amount of men you willfully rejected who wanted you

  4. Eva white people are not the same as black ppl. It's OK to be different. It's the respect for the differences that's the issue. Stop trying to force black on everybody. Moreover Thandie is biracial.

  5. Most people will be 'biracial' eventually. So let's stop putting people in black or white labeled box.
America is a white country, and the industry ,not matter how it tries to make sense, has to follow the heart beat of the majority to produce relevant movies and make The Money. So just keep working to produce your own production company like Tyler Perry and issue will resolve in the coming generation. It's a long process, not sth that we fight like a child.

  6. You tell em Eva….. 'What is Thandie talking about.' Why is she apologizing. Is she the spokesperson FOR a certain group of women–'sorry for taking BW' men and roles…' Girl please.

  7. I was angry about Norbit because Eddie Murphy was making fun of plus size black women. In the movie he left his wife for a light skin women Thandie Newton. I'm so glad she apologized to us, we need more dark skinned women in movies and video games.

  8. Noooo lol she did another interview recently talking about being light skinned and how much prejudice she has faced from dark skin people. I don’t know if this is the same or another recent recent interview. Tanya Tko had it on her platform last week. The ladies wasn’t having it with her lol 😂. The oppressors of Becky’s are the Keisha’s lol not the Susans and Billy Bobs.

  9. Excellent commentary! Where is the apology? Enough is enough, I appreciate you calling out opportunist who profit off cultural appropriation getting all the rhythm but avoid the blues (R&B). Doing the dominant racist class service without exposing their actions.

  10. Just leave us real black people the heck alone. Why can't they just feel their guilt without involving the rest of us. Being black is great. She can't take any woman's man. Give me a break. Never ever thought of Thandie as anything but a black woman until now.

  11. She's going through a midlife crisis, and using this colourism thing as an excuse for sympathy. Come on you've been acting as a blk woman for over 2 decades and didn't care.

  12. If you listen to the whole clip she wasn't apologizing to dark-skinned black women she was actually throwing shots at American black women saying that she was being hated on here in America more than she was in London by black women. That's a real bad job by y'all y'all need to put some context before y'all start give me all the opinions about things

  13. I’m shocked by this anger coming from all the comments that I’ve been reading on you tube about Thandie Newton. Why are people so upset with her, i mean she’s a black women and I’ve always liked her as an actress, because she’s a great talent. She shouldn’t feel like she as to cry and apologise for anything or for being a mixed women. Why do we all keep doing these kinds off things to each other, we don’t know what kinds off difficulty’s she’s faced in her life to get to where she is, she might be off mixed race, but i see her as a black women who as continues to open the door for other black women just by being a black women. This shit needs to stop……! Being so judgmental and critical off black people and black women. It doesn’t matter weather or not she’s off mixed race, it doesn’t make her any less off a black women or any less deserving off her success. The beautiful thing is that People come in all shapes, sizes and yes thank god, because he knew what he was doing creating us in all colours. Ever time i watch one off these videos I’m just silenced beyond words at how viscous we as black people are to each other, gosh it’s so frustrating. People complain that there isn’t enough black female actress in leading roles and I definitely agree with that, but weather that actress is dark skinned or off mixed race, it’s still opening the door and paving the way for all black women off colour. She’s a black British actor who is off mixed race, Hallie is an American actor off mixed race, Zoe Zaldana Latina women. Missy Elliot dark skin rapper, Foxy brown, dark skinned rapper, Mc Lyte light skinned rapper, Lady bug mixed race rapper, I mean I could keep going, but my point here is that these wonderful, amazing, talented and beautiful people are all paving The way for all black people, they are representing for all cultures off people including people within there own ethnic backgrounds weather they’re mixed or not. This is why it’s so difficult for us to make any head way sometimes, because we are our worst enemy and also responsible for these same types off stereotypes, off black women that white people have off us. More love and respect for each other please people.❤️🙏🏿
