Becoming a man among the borana | SLICE | Full documentary

In Southern Ethiopia, 11 year-old Wario belongs to the Borana, a semi-nomadic tribe renowned for salt trading in the region. It is time for him to prove himself and his family, that he is a real Borana, and can take on important responsibilities in the community.
He will undergo a 200 km initiatory journey to learn the difficult labor of salt…

@rolandsteffen5136

When I see people who live so simply, I ask myself – what is it that connects us? Our complicated, elaborate way of life in the north and the hard but simple way of life in the south. Our lives have the same value. If we want to recognize the true value, we have to look at these simple people and learn from them.

Where did the goat disappear to.

This guy is an awful speaker, he stop at the stupidest of thing… Yes we understand that tey climb ladders and by use of buckets the refill the drinking ole … Amazing! and they sing as well, I bet no other culture sings while doing thoughtless and boring jobs! lets listen and guess the words, as once again the producers forgot to press the sub/ cc on their edits. so lets find another bad sight of sequences to get something not interesting to our viewers.

@abcdefghi9

Almost like stepping back in time to the era of Jesus and the wise men who were likely traders that rode on camel just like these people. Amazing.

Slice you got me where you said the salt is traded for animal, and human… consumption. It thought it was traded for humans for that moment before you added consumption. 😅
