Wow enjoyed it, learnt some skills👌😊

@Agnelum1

I realize where I went wrong… I've got sour cream instead of sour MILK! You see what I told you? I shouldn't be left to my own devices. So basically not the authentic recipe but for now this will do. The phuthu came out okay… as in, I didn't poison myself. So that's a small victory.
I've learned that I can make a substitute sour milk by adding a tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to a cup of milk and letting it stand for 5-10 mins.

@Agnelum1

Gabmeister, is it better to cook this on a gas stove or electric? I bought sour cream the other day and now the thought of trying to make phuthu is giving me heart palpitations. You don't understand.
The better/improved design with gas stoves is that the "low flame" setting is all the way at the end (what is now your high flame) and the "high flame" setting is right at the beginning. This way you can put it on low flame just by cranking the knob all the way. Also when you switch it off, you don't run the risk of having it leaking gas on a low setting. Eish! Technology is wonderful neh??
Also, how often or frequently should the pap be "turned over" as @ 3:25 while it's simmering?

@Agnelum1

By the way, re: the washing machine odor. Yes, that was most likely due to mold from the door always being kept closed. I think what a lot of people don't realize is that every couple of months, to prevent mold/mildew build-up in the machine they should run a "cleaning cycle" of water and bleach ONLY.. It will also stop those "washing machine tub" smells transferring to your laundry.

@Agnelum1

So I just tried to make a pap…. Disaster! In fact, it was a calamitous disaster!
I've never seen a more lumpy concoction in all my life.
This is exactly why I shouldn't be left to my own devices. And I'm here thinking that I can make emasi?? Eish! Aikona!

@Agnelum1

I came here looking for something else… I lived in Swaziland (UniSwa, Kwaluseni Campus, Manzini) when I was a child, my sisters were all born in Swaziland, and we used to eat a certain food which was made of pap and sour cream I think. What is that called and how is it made? I would really appreciate it if anybody could help.
I'd love to visit Swaziland again.

@OleratoAndFamily

Oros is life right? Haven't tried it with sparkling water though,definitely hv to try that…Girl, we used to actually make our own mealie pap and that was the best. My GranPa had the machine to do it and for a little while, we had a business running where brought in their mealies for grinding…Girl, you bring back memories…..oh man, the crunch….okay now i'm hungry….

@SheKingLifestyle

NOTHING quenches a thirst like OROS!!! OH YES!

@SheKingLifestyle

My favourite meal!

@qheliswasimelane

Yesss. That's my mom too. She grows her own corn and so it's not as white and it's so healthy. I am in China by the way and I am Swazi. I miss liphuthu and emasi

@michellem7388

I loved Black Panther! Yes I would love to see the backyard cleanup – and inside too. It's so weird but I actually really like those clean with me videos. They are so inspiring – even if I'm just laying on my sofa watching lol. I always envision myself actually getting up cleaning while I watch, but I never actually do lol.

@tirelomputle6446

How did I know you were about to whip out some Oros!! True tho, it hits the spot.

@Onkgopotse

Love your outfit❤🌼
