The actual government od Mauritius, very cheap ans money minded, gave lease of 99 years to UK on Diego Garcia, so how come is this called Mauritian sovreignty? Election is in November in Mauritius and this is a strategie to lure Mauritians electorates. But we are not fools. The actual govt is going out. Citizens have decided to put actual govt OUT!

The islands never belonged to Mauritius, Britain stole them from the French in 1814. The islands were uninhabited when the French claimed them. They are 2,200 kilometres from Mauritius. Britain gave Diego Garcia to the US to build a base during the Cold War. Britain doesn't use the base. It no longer needs one in the Indian Ocean. Islands like Bermuda, the Falklands, Caymans, and Gibraltar have had referendums and want to remain British. for some reason. These islands are now a headache. The Falklands has 3,000 inhabitants, but Britain has to keep planes, ships, and troops to protect them from Argentina, it is a waste of money.
What were the conditions for these surrender to happen, because we know big thieves don't surrender without any deals…

Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa etc are still part of Britain with the British monarch as head of state (just like the Falklands). Their just no longer "British Colonys" but "British Realms/Territories" or "British Dominions" that have their own Governments, Parliaments, Prime Minister but with the British Monarch as Head of State with a "Governor General" in each country representing the monarch & doing the role of the monarch in each country (signing in laws, opening parliament etc).

Gibraltar and falklands consider themselves british, in facr gibraltar uas had refurendums, unanimously in favour of remaining a british territory. If spain makes a claim on gibraltar or argentina on the falklanda this become an occupation not a return of a territory.
