Speaking in Hausa, Kwankwaso emphasized his political stature, claiming he holds greater importance than Obi. However, he indicated a readiness for constructive dialogue with the LP leader to explore a possible alliance.

“While I believe I am bigger than Peter Obi politically, as I consider myself his elder brother with a PhD and a proven record of governance, I have no objections to serving as his deputy if the right conditions are set,” Kwankwaso stated.

In the 2023 presidential race, Peter Obi garnered a significant following, securing the majority in 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, and receiving around 6.1 million votes, placing him third overall. Conversely, Kwankwaso found considerable support in Kano State, where he won 38 out of 44 local government areas, amassing approximately 1.5 million votes.

Kwankwaso expressed his willingness to engage in discussions with Obi, emphasizing the need for mutual trust to establish a viable partnership for the future. “We are willing to engage in discussions, provided that trust is established,” he concluded, hinting at the possibility of a strategic alliance as both parties eye the 2027 elections.
