What is it with people on YouTube calling out the likes of Brownlee and MrBeast for clicks, at the same time has having spammy 'check out the new 2024 collection at…' links and making money from their clickbaitery? As if taking money from the wholly corrupt Google evil empire with monetization wasn't bad enough.

At the end of the day:
– Dude can definitely afford his own salad, he doesn't need this app to keep his lights on. At this point definitely a bit 'tone-deaf' as you said, considering what you can get for free nowadays (My whole thing is how can a tech reviewer have such low-res wallpapers?! I digress….)
– Flip side is, dude has stayed sponsor free and built his empire staying ethical, and if he wants to slang his own products at the start of his (What he know will be a highly-viewed cos it's iphone 16) video, then so be it. He's not forcing you to buy it, he proabably will make one more vid about it to address the backlash, and then I'm guessing any further shilling will be minimal as the dude is smart and isn't gonna try shove this down our throats any more after this so I think this is pretty minor, he absolutely has the right to try shill his own stuff, buy it or don't, you can just skip the ad.
When you see what Mr Beast, Logan & Co are all shamelessly doing amidst lawsuits and accusations, this is literally a fart in the wind. His peers would sell family members if it meant a small profit and he's been pretty independent for over 20 years… . Give the guy a break imo! 🙏

As a photographer, it sucks that people take photos for granted. People complaining about paying for images is a symptom of that problem, that people are so used to lifting images off the internet for free. Even if it's graphics, it's also someone's work. What I hope is that this is a point in time where the internet starts to learn that things have actual value to them.

The app is overpriced, but all wallpaper apps are overpriced for people who don’t value wallpapers. I feel the same way about watch face apps and a ton of other things I don’t value. The app has to have ads. People who create custom art should be paid. I hate ads too. Everyone seems to be overlooking the fact that he’s providing a platform that allows artists to earn a living. I don’t think he deserves to be roasted and attacked. I don’t see myself paying for wallpapers, but he fulfilled the request people sent him, so he simply provided a service. People asked about his wallpapers for years. So clearly people wanted access to the wallpapers he used. His career is what it is because HE EARNED IT BY WORKING HARD FOR YEARS! He earned the platform he has and it seems like a lot of people have a problem with him because he’s successful. Remember, this is the same person who says in most of his reviews that the newest tech or devices aren’t necessarily worth buying. He literally talked me and a lot of people out of buying new MacBooks or iPads by saying he didn’t even use the newer model, and it was sent to him for free. This is his first app. Give him time to listen to what people are saying then make improvements! Also, if you don’t like the app, you don’t have to use it.
