Why is a Brit in the US city of Chicago doing this type of documentary on gang violence?! They have this same type of violence and gangs in Britain.
If kids pass through grades without competency, its a system failure. But if teachers see issue and let it slide, that seems like a teaching issue. I am not saying they need to teach to the lowest, but if they fail to identify those who are behind, early, they are a part of the problem. You can teach a kid to read with A book. Every teacher can afford one. They want to blame inadequate system funding. But have the kids read out of one dollar store dictionary if you actually care and cannot afford anything else.

Poverty is one of the hardest things to overcome. There's so many things that the middle class takes for granted. I grew up well off, and never thought as an adult i would be poor. I never thought that planning a doctors appointment would be based on a bus schedule for example. Also how far is the nearest pharmacy from the busstop. Things i took for granted as a younger person growing up with everything.
The GOVERNMENT is the only thing to blame for all this.. They no wats guna happen wen dey gather ppl who don't hav notin WIT ppl who don't hav notin..Gov's are evil! Or who hav control over da gov's.. Wen ppl hav notin or worse dan dat, hav no hopes, r desires bcoz they've bn ground into da ground they'd do antin to survive.. It's truly a sad story that most of the cities in America are soaked in blood. Truth to be told I've heard from a lot of gang members in other videos there are too many deaths on both sides of the fence.
