Big fan here, But, I have to tell you GMO wheat has been here for 50 yrs. And they are spraying on lots of other food. Where I live Farmers are spraying the crops with big tractor sprayers and crop duster airplanes. The ground and waterways and aquifers are all polluted. Did you know all imported food is irradiated ? Making money off of radioactive waste…
Don’t eat wheat or grain. Pure carnivore and eat what I grow…

Unrelated: I started learning about grains by making sourdough, which I exclusively do, but if love to hear about different yeast options.

You are correct that HB4 wheat will not be on the US market anytime soon for the reasons you mentioned and others. This said, it is ironic that people are fighting an agricultural product that would arguably vastly reduce the amount of herbicides currently used to grow wheat. Glufosinate (not to be confused with glyphosate) has been heavily tested and is not carcinogenic or an endocrine disrupter. This one herbicide applied to genetically tolerant wheat would replace Buctril, stinger, Starane, 2,4-d, dicamba, metsulfuron, etc. Let’s be careful comparing ourselves to our ancestors. There is ample evidence the Sumerians, Chinese and others used mercury and arsenic conpounds for pest control. Many crops were sprayed (powdered) with organic tin compounds back in the good old days of wholesome living.

Bum, I'm in Australia and have just started buying wheat grains. I thought it was organic but now I'm not sure.
Guess I will have a few sleepless nights researching what I have. Stuff here isn't labeled gmo so it's like a pot luck lucky dip on what we get
What are you talking about when you say GMO wheat is the first "…marks the first genetically modified crop approved to be grown for human consumption." Don't kill this messenger, but nearly all the corn grown in the USA FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION is genetically modified and Big AG has been growing it for over three decades. Just look at all the food labels saying, "Made with GMO food products." And you should know that the FDA does NO testing of products on its own. Zero. Look, these federal agencies are mostly rubber-stamp operations designed to give consumers a false sense of security. Forget the South American countries having companies developing and selling GMO crops. You need to read lawsuits involving Monsanto and how that corporate monster destroyed small America farmers beneath the radar for the last 30 years. Lastly, not to be off-topic, but if you don't know by now that the United States Federal Reserve Bank is a PRIVATE bank owned primarily by the Rothschild family – as are nearly ALL the CENTRAL banks across the globe, then you've managed to merely scratch the surface of the lies we have been fed for over 100 years, with your announcement that wheat is only now going to be GMO wheat. We all have to learn the truth sometime and now is better than never, but it is a little late in the matrix game to be piecing together the truth of this satanic world.
With wheat prices below the cost of production right now why would any farmer want to reduce the pool of potential buyers by offering GMO wheat?
And Japan will almost never approve this, most probably. Perhaps if it’s main customers do not want it, will probably not sell it to overseas customers, but the US customers will probably see it eventually. You’re a believer, beautiful; ty

A couple of years ago I learned of Kamut grain. I was so impressed that I arranged to use a vacant lot to grow my own grain. I even bought a small tractor and some implements to make it all work. But I am now over 80 years old. The owner of that lot sold it, and now 2 houses are on that land. i can still buy that grain from a local distributor and get it to grind my own flour to make my own bread. I hope to never get involved with GMO wheat.
Always, always look for Heirloom/ Heritage grains, vegetables & fruits!

I'm not sure how to send you a question. I've been binge watching your videos and can't thank you enough for all your recipes and advice. My question is how do you make cookies with whole wheat? I make everything from pizzella to chocolate chip during the holidays. I would love for them to be with whole wheat and not feel like I'm poisoning everyone I give baked gifts to.
