  1. Great video; fantastic views from the plane especially the approach to Noukchott. The airport at Dakar looks very modern and well equipped. But you might find it hard to know that you are in Senegal. I wish that African airports could showcase some of the country's culture and history and sell real souvenirs of the country, such as artefacts and handicrafts, and also books about the country. It seems that most things for sale here are the usual "buy it anywhere in the world stuff" – the usual Toblerone chocolate, booze and perfumes. Mauritania Airlines is one airline that I hope never to fly with again. In 2011, after a great five-week trip around the country, I took a flight from Nouakchott to Dakar with the airline. We checked in on time and the flight time was 2.30pm. But the time came and went and several more hours passed in the departure lounge – a bare place with just one small drink stall. Nothing else! There were no announcements concerning the flight and when I asked some officials about the whereabouts of the plane, they simply said that is is coming! The airline did not provide any refreshments unlike some other airlines. I have travelled many times in Algeria and the national airline, Air Algerie, also does not keep to time. However, whilst waiting in the departure lounge at Algiers airport, drinks and even meals would be given out regularly! Finally, the plane rolled up and we left some five hours late. And on board there were no refreshments at all.
But it is good to see that the new airport is a real improvement on the old one that I passed through. One final point – perhaps you could show more text; for example, saying how comfortable were the seats on the plane, etc!
