Im from El Salvador and that football war is wrong, the war initiated due to a land problem between El Salvador en Honduras, Salvadoreans one a lot of land and the majority were farmers so the Honduras government was worry about Hondurans land and works taken over by Salvadoreans so the government deported a lot of Salvadoreans and the relationship between both countries where really tense after that and after the football match everything went south, but it was not only for the football game 🙂↔️
