  1. This project is a misplaced priority. It is an avenue to syphon public funds. Why not complete the East/West road and the other bad roads in the country instead of going to dump our money in the ocean? You have not been able to maintain the roads on terra-firma, you are going to build on swamps. Have you thought of the number of bridges that would be required on the road? With the issue of climate change to contend with, the road is very likely to be washed away in a couple of years from now. I am disappointed.

  2. This is not about speaking for new or old alignments. We should not subject this matter to another political manoeuvre. The Ministry should explore a scientific way of addressing the concerns of the people. Why is the Hon. Minister sounding like he wants to create warlike situation between genuinely concerned Nigerians. Compensation is usual and should have been contemplated for, during design and costing for the road.

  3. Just 1-2 weeks ago, Leila Johnson Salami of Channels was broadcast on national TV calling your attention to the need for an EIA/ESIA which should have been obtained before the demolition of businesses started to create a path. Umahi made a mockery of her question on national TV. As it turns out today, you have been exposed as a half baked engineer who places his cart before his horse and leaps before looking.

Let me detract a bit- The subject of building a 3rd runway for London Heathrow has been on the table for over 10 years. The British government has been engaging with the stakeholders (the neighbouring communities) whom will be affected by the noise, extra traffic and risk. The plan is to get a consensus nod from the stakeholders before that runway is built as it will impact the neighbourhoods around. That runway still has not been built because the government of the UK respects its people.

In Nigeria, our elite are so crude, foolish, rude, entitled and so arrogant about these entitlements.

Personally I do not believe this scam of a presentation. This was all an elaborate scam which is expected to fly over the heads of most Nigerians who have been "Alamajirized". The Nigerian public is purposely being made dumber everyday for these sick and daft APC government people to thread rough shod over their rights.

Umahi is being used by the presidency to take back the lands sold to Paul Onwuanibe in 2006/2007, the owner of Landmark beach bought the land in 2007 at a time when the US dollar exchanged for $1-N120. From 2006/2007 till now the value of that land has increased twenty-fold. The dollar is 12.5 x more than what it exchanged for iin 2006/2007. The plan was always to
1- Give the impression that the Government needs this land to justify taking it
2- Take this prime located land from Paul Onwuanibe- the owner of Landmark,
3- Compensate Paul with chump change.
4- Raise some noise and dust about compensation. (targeting Peter Obi's demolition statement. Not Atiku's)
5- Change the alignment later after compensation is accepted.
6- Make that Land Government owned.
7- Sell it back to Tinubu using one of his many fraud proxies at a cheap rate…If possible using the same 2007 rate of Dollar.

    We know how this works.

Umahi should either resign his position for this blunder OR be sacked.

  4. Goliath Umahi: "David, you are leaving true to your name!"

This man is an example of how the average civil servant behaves in Nigeria. The funny thing is David won that fight last I checked! However, in Nigeria, Goliath always wins!

Genaral Umahi: "…we'll create new town…!"

That's wow! Nigerian democracy is wow!
