Botswana is a puppet nation of the west
Botswana is taking chances
Big up Botswana, a step in the right direction. In 1980 Lesotho produced 85% of its grain needs now imports 70%. Let's focus on feeding our own people instead of enriching boers.
South Africa should give Botswana the middle finger 😂 and never help them again
False narrative. A trade war is deliberate retaliation against imports from another by means such as tarrifs, restrictions or bans of another country's import. What Botswana did was limit the import of fresh vegetables to encourage local consumption. It is only that we import most of our basics from one country that when we restrict an entire product it appears to the eye that we are targetting produce from one nation.
South Africa has had restrictions on car imports for decades and nobody has labelled that as a "Trade War", because South Africa is protecting it's local car manufacturing.
Work on your healines mate
It's very misleading
Africa must be one country with one currency and one economy and one military and one president.
Old news
Stop the lie there is no war between SA and Botswana please stop that
Botswana has intelligent leadership.. this is a smart move…love what Botswana is doing hope more countries can learn from Botswana instead of trying to divide us… always respect and ❤ Botswana my great neighbours ♥️
It should be 50 50 deal
This must be British report, Botswana has 2,3 mil people. The ban no impact. Batswana are generally subsistence farmers so they eat their own traditional produce..
Why is South Africa and Botswana fighting?
Be Educated- This is about TRADE IN BALANCE – Botswana is protecting its ECONOMICY. Botswana is a SMART and CLEVER. AFRICAN COUNTRY- In the 1990s The USA President – George Bush complained about- CHINA – AMERICA TRADE IN BALANCE- Simple meaning CHINA WANTS TO SELL TO THE AMERICA AND THE WORLD BUT CHINA DOES NOT WANT BUY PRODUCTS FROM AMERICA AND THE WORLD. SOUTH AFRICA sells more products to Botswana but buys very little from Botswana. Botswana want to balance trade, but only what it needs, Protect the country from being A DUMPING GROUND – where South will dump food products that South Africa could not sell to the Western Countries.
Don't believe anything you see on the internet
We are weaker apart than together. We should always be vigilant of outside forces that seek to divide us. The US is a powerful state because of its united identity…
Sacu share import tariffs through sacu member borders and share the revenue amongst themselves along shared along agreed proportion s. The aim is to become a fedederal region because of shared culture and language…it is really not benifiting either of these countries to operate as if the are on different continents.
I WOULD ALSO CUT OFF THE FOOD WE DONT HAVE A PRESIDENT WITH BALLS …
HE ALLOWS EVERYTHING GMO FOOD HE SAYS YES WHEN A PERSON DOESNT CARE ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY THATS SA PRESIDENT
It's not the first time about electricity even England Nigeria they bing with e broblem like us in they history but know they are power house and we still powerful without Botswana
It's a temper tantrum, similar emotionally driven actions are being mulled by Zimbabwe, Nigeria. Still, and this must be recognised by everyone, they have a right to uplift their country the way they see fit, in line with national comparative resources' advantages. But they have no right to ban RSA products outside of the WTO along with relevant, sensible AU, SADC protocols.
Botswana leaned alot from south Africa in Covid times. please leave Botswana a lone
RSA AND BOTSWANA ARE INSEPARABLE, NO ONE CAN COME BETWEEN US , NO MATTER WHAT, BW ONLY WANTS TO TRY AND START FEEDING ITSELF, THAT'S SO SMALL, WE STILL DEPEND ON RSA FOR MANY THINGS, SO PLEASE WHITE EUROPEAN MAN AND YOUR MEDIA,STOP TAKING THINGS OUT OF CONTEXT.
Me watching the misinformation in this video and thinking what and idiot of a content creator feeding people lies. It's embarrassing really.
Please grow your channel properly and stop using misinformation and clickbait, these type of videos can cause unnecessary tension and Hatred. Botswana used to buy electricity from RSA but in the early 2000s they opened power plants and started producing their own electricity and they are now meeting the demands of the nation. They are currently selling excess electricity to ZImbabwe and in the future RSA. The reason why they are banning imports from RSA is for Self reliance reasons. If Botswana did not stop buying electricity from RSA then it would mean that it would also be experiencing loadshedding currently because ESKOM is failing south africans.
During Covid there were food shortages and South Africa prioritised its Residents frist meaning Botswana did not have enough food.Botswana does not want to have situations that are similar to Covid happening again.
I dont know if its intentional but your Interpretation shows a lack of understanding of economics and ignorance towards current affairs. There is no way Botswana can rely on South Africa when South Africans cant even rely on south africa.

Lies, les, lies . Where should the local farmers sell their products if there is freedom of importation from RSA?
Botswana's population is just a mere 2.6 million people. Not even half the population of Soweto.
A ban on fruits and vegetables from RSA can't cause any significant impact on farmers like you put. I feel like you are over exaggerating facts…
There is no trade war we don't what to rely on SA
Now there is a shortage of Fruits and vegetables, And prices such as Potatoes have increased because Botswana can not produce enough and Botswana does not have the best soil and and agricultural infrastructure to produce adequate supplies for the country
Lies! It's not a trade dispute. This is a good move for Botswana. Peddling lies!
Botswana consumers will suffer from exorbitant prices. Producers will benefit.
Did you realize that when Botswana say's this…other southern countries follow and do the same!? Namibia, Zimbabwe and others copy what Botswana is doing and in long term it will affect SA …they are isolating SA slowly.
Why the hell are you lying , Botswana wants to decrease it's dependency on South Africa . They are not cutting them off , Don't cover things you don't understand
Western media taking things the wrong way as expected 💁💁💁 This video was made by someone who doesn't even live in Africa!!!???? The Audacity
There is no trade war between the two. Botswana is a small economy that cannot go to war with a large economy like RSA. BW is a highly dependent on SA for a number of imports and companies running the retail space. RSA basically runs the BW economy now the country needs to develop its own industries and not depend on RSA for small things such as vegetables. This due to the realization after COVID experience. Pushing the trade war narrative is wrong. Please get your facts right before peddling misinformation.
Very informative.
Botswana gets it's products from China etc just like we do. The ANC has destroyed our economy by not protecting companies in South Africa and using stupid labor laws that companies can't afford thus companies left and now Botswana doesn't have a need South Africa. Not talking about the increase prices because of Eskom
The ANC is arrogant and Botswana is teaching the ANC a lesson!
There is no trade war at all.Botswana still import 90% of goods from SOUTH AFRICA.Botswana has abundant land to use for agriculture.
