  1. 1 cup of yellow lentils, 1 medium potato, 1 medium onion cut into cubes (you'll need 2 more for the fried onion you add at the end), 1 medium tomato, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 large carrot.
1 tablespoon cumin, 1 tablespoon of salt, 1/2 tablespoon spoon of black pepper.

  2. Wow, away from our authentic traditional Egyptian lentil soup. I like that you 're Egyptian and your channel works as an ambassador for our Egyptian kitchen to people around the world.

  3. Is this a traditional Egyptian dish from modern times only? Other than the lentils, most of these ingredients would not have been known to Egyptians until only a couple of hundred years ago.

  4. It looks a lot like Somali shurbat cadas (which is made without potato and pasta, but with xawaash topped with garlic/cumin oil, lemon and parsley). Thanks for sharing, I'll certainly make this for my family. I've subscribed to your channel, love and respect from The Netherlands.
