1 million subscribers for peace – WW2 finale Breakfast Club

We just finished shooting the final episode in our WW2 chronology. The next morning we sat down for coffee, croissants and some reminiscing.

  1. Mark your calendars! On September 2nd, join us for a livestream airing directly after a special episode of World War Two in Real Time. We’re so close to hitting our goal of 1 million subscribers before the series ends. Your dedication has brought us this far—let’s make history together!

  2. I begged you to stretch it out, and not start the Korean War series. I enjoyed, when you would drop, two vids, per per week. Tuesday or Wednesday, and Saturday Mornings. It was so fun, to get out of work, go home, and your stream, would start, right as I cleaned up after work, 30 minutes later.

My only regret is that I didn't have the money, to dedicate an episode, to my favorite Uncle, who was in infantryman in WW II, on the start of the War, with the 91st Division. From what I remember, after injured seven times, and his unit, was nearly out of Italy, he got sent home. This was, before, D-Day. I have his book that he was given on the 91st Division. He had written, a Hill number, where he fought at one battle. You are greatly missed, Tio Nick, from New Mexico. Every time I watched World War Two streams, I would remember him. Very moving. Thank you, Time Ghost Army!

  3. I still have the memories of seeing "I'm Indy Neidell and that was The Great War" the afternoon after coming back from the centennial Armistice Day celebration in Paris in 2018. But I hadn't even followed The Great War series from the start like I did with WW2. Preparing myself for the emotional hit that will be.

  4. What has the human race learned from WW2? Any thing? Nothing?
Any error, crime, falsehood , perfidy, self justifcation or bad history that we can be relied on NOT to recommit?

Anything that might help the dead sleep?

"The Poppies" by Macrae (fom memory)

"To you from failing hands we throw
    this torch
Be it yours to hold it high
If you brreak faith with we who die
    We shall not sleep,
    though poppies grow
    In Flanders field"

    different war , same duty

  5. I will cherish this Breakfast Club episode for the rest of my life, because I saw the way Indy holds his pen and I realized that I wasn't the only person in the world holding a pen exactly that weird way. I love you Indy!

  6. Incredible props to Sparty. I'll admit I've skipped or left unfinished many of the WAH episodes because even when it's something I already knew, it's just, really too heavy some days. I can't imagine researching it over and over, checking, double-checking, and then having to present it on camera. Incredibly documentary all around.

  7. Love the Chinese Civil War idea. I think it really calls for at least 2 "setting the scene specials" which goes through the sort of growth of the red army and situation of the National Revolutionary Army during the war.

  8. When this show started I just turned 21 (my birthday is August 31) and was about to go back to college for my senior year. Now I am about to turn 27 and have been out of college for 5 years. To say that a lot of has changed in life is putting it lightly (even if you disregard Covid). It’s been so awesome spending most of my 20s watching you guys every Saturday morning and it will be sad that it’s going to come to an end very soon but life goes on and I still have a lot of growing up to do. So I just want to say thank you guys.

  9. You guys are great! I learned so much from your channel and from your coverage of the events. It’s always been balanced and nuanced. Free from agenda and political views, which seems to be rare these days. Thank you, thank you and thank you!

  10. I'm sorry Indy, but I have too many subscriptions already and will probably be UN-subbing now that the Axis powers have finally surrendered. It has been an incredible ride, but I need to free up this time in my week. Best wishes to you all!

  11. I’ve been engaged with history especially WWII since childhood! I love being a subscriber and thank you all for your outstanding work. From Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
