I investigated the dark truth behind cars manufactured in Nigeria
I visited local car manufacturers to investigate why Nigerians don’t buy made-in-Nigeria cars, and why no made-in-Nigeria car is exported out of the country.

I really appreciate Innoson motor manufacturer but the problem here is why is your car costly than foreign cars knowing fully well the economic situation of Nigerians.
Are you producing it for Politicians or Nigerians
I think Nigeria needs to also make a very luxury brand Model because they don’t look good that’s why they are choosing the other brands
The Nord Tusk has a front end of a Chevrolet Silverado but they changed the name on the grille from Chevrolet to Nord
Did he say ukuthi
Nigeria's biggest problem is the same as all other less wealthy countries: People want to show off what they can't afford. The government keeps people ignorant with consumerist and short-sighted thinking to make them easy to manipulate. Someone would rather buy a good in installments than buy something that would actually fit their budget (but doesn't offer status). Cell phones, cars, designer clothes… People don't have the rational reasoning of economists, they just want to maintain a mask of belonging to the highest level of society, even if that means getting into debt, paying more for a good that does exactly the same as the simpler version and offers less status.
NORD INNOSAN and other African manufacturers have a wide range of vehicles. If the case is that a specific car has a Chinese or Japanese BA baseline for the car – but many car manufacturers start this way. Renault engines in Nissans. VW engines in Chinese JACs and BMW engines in Ineos Grenadiers- are you implying these manufacturers shouldn't say made in Nigeria? Then what about Ineos JAC .
So anyway my point is "made in" is up to the manufacturer- some home made parts some imported – final product like the Ineos ultimately unique
And over time – how much of the car is ultimately manufactured locally will be the thing to watch
Dude who makes the vehicles doesn't even drive them. He needs to trade that avalon and go get nords or innocent then you have some room to say your ppl dont support their own cars.
Im not Nigerian but I'm proud and respectful for the efforts they give to depend on themselves, one must start from a certain place. If these cars have spare parts, do not break down quickly, and are durable, they will succeed. However, with proper advertising, marketing, and promotion, and making people who represent the state use them, the use of these cars by state representatives gives people more motivation and confidence to use them. They are really beautiful cars. I hope for them and for the Nigerian people to succeed and excel
The fact remains that these guys are not ready for the common man, rather the elite . Though if I can have such a huge amount and be willing to shell it in a car, I'll prefer the NORD
“Mercedes bens” 💀
Great video.
I'm from USA and I'd definitely give them a try if I was there.
US and UK control Nigeria 🇳🇬 government, so what do yaalll expect!?
Nigeria 🇳🇬 is just dumb asf
Well done
Everyone loves the White man's technology.
The truth is these cars are not made in Nigeria bc the engines are not made here. I can say they are assembled or pimped here in Nigeria. You actually need a high tech robotic factory to manufacture the engines and the auto parts of the vehicles
NORD A5 Pro is a rebadge of the Chery Kaiyi Xuanjie Pro model. The Nord pickup trucks look very much if not identical to Huanghai models called N3 & N7. The newer INNOSON trucks are ZhongXing Terralord (5:21) versions. The NORD minibus might indeed be popular as they are copies of a Toyota model built by many Chinese manufacturers.
I personally do not drive but if i were to drive i would definitely go for the NORD.
I am a woman but this is fascinating to watch I would buy it knowing it's from my own country.and am South African.
I will buy made in Nigeria
I love this channel… please keep it up❤
It's not a matter of Nigerian or American cars. It's a matter of quality.
Hello from Russia. I so glad to see that you guys produce so many well crafted cars in your country. I completely agree with a young man that people need to buy domestically assembled cars. It is good for your economics and jobs places for your citizens. Please, show more reports from your country. I have strong beliefs that it's a good place to visit as a tourist, nonetheless, we don't know much about your country.
So, here in the USA there was a time period were GM, Ford, Chrysler were top dogs. Where 90% of all cars and trucks for commercial or personal use were made in the USA.
So what happened? The 1970s happened. The Clean Air Act happened, the oil embargo happened. All of a sudden the big 3 were faced up against new regulations for emissions. The problem was the big 3 did feel they needed to invest heavily in producing smaller high quality fuel efficient vehicles. So they made the Dodge Omni, Ford Pinto, Chevy Vega. Cars that were cost cut at every corner and built poorly.
So what happened? Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Nissan/Datsun came in to fill the void in the market. They provided high quality cars, competitive pricing, beautiful styling and fuel efficiency. The big 3 gave up 35% marker share thinking everyone will resume buying big boats after the oil embargo. That didn't happen.
Why? Outdated styling, less competitive pricing, poor build quality, market saturation and bad fuel efficiency. All lead to the down fall of American auto makers in America. They destroyed their own brands! All the while the JDM market was itching to prove they were just as good with extensive marketing. Remember the Lexus LS 400 balancing the wine glasses while running? Then there's the automotive journalists who were all for Euro cars during the 1980s. If it didn't handle like a BMW/Benz it did review well as compared to the big 3s offerings which were still offering bench seats floaty suspension front/rear wheel drive cars; Americas bread-and-butter except it wasn't selling well anymore.
I'd say, again from a foreigner looking from the outside, Nigerian auto manufacturers need to aggressively market their vehicles like the JDM manufacturers did from the 1970s to 1990s. Prove that your vehicles can be competitive with impressive displays of ingenuity! Remember win on Sunday sell on Monday! That's how your build brand recognition. That's how you illustrate to the Nigerian public these are good cars!
Or, show the opposite and burn your reputation to the ground!
Let's just remember that vehicle producers outside Nigeria don't have you or your environment in mind while producing it.
and another thing in African countries one LAW concerning cars TOYOTA if not walk away do not i repeat do not recent German cars as they are too difficult to maintain and it costs a lot, especially those with airsuspension >> walk away but also I have to say that by knowledge Nigeria is famous by doing miracles with cars even from Niger they come for body works on the cars to Nigeria so a car is made to move around as the roads are difficult so TOYOYOTA will do it perfectlyt just change the oil in time (by the way I do not work at TOYOTA but in 2024 I've seen 30 years old Starlets running around heavily charged in Niger bye for now
If you look at the structure of the garage at 20:00 minutes the structure comes down to assemble it can't be look good at the metal structure they can't move, and the the painting shop with windows ???
The car industry in Nigeria looks like a money-grabbing scheme being laced with "national pride" & "prioritize locally made products first".
3:55 Innoson?
I am in Cameroon. I would like to have one of these cars. The manufacturers need to advertise a lot.
these cares are nothing but rebrands
Pls employ me am really interested in this pls
Lol buddy thinks he has it all figured out.
I mean, they are obviously just direct ripoffs of virtually every brand and model known to the modern world, but only I can imagine produced to much lower standards. I think the answer is obvious as to why they aren't flooding any streets, much less even Nigeria's streets. Better off buying kei cars and old toyota and nissan beaters.
Even if they don't manufacture the vehicles totally in Nigeria its still not an excuse to not support your own every major manufacturer had some sort of help or collaboration during their time and non of them can say their ideas are 100%theirs so it's time for some action to match the talk.
If the government of nigeria would say that they government, need to buy made in Nigeria, then you would get more purchases
With an altime high inflation i doubt most nigerians can actually afford a car of 5 million naira. these cars are for the elite or nigerians making money in dollars.
Rebadged china brand😂
Omo, if I get money today na NORD oh. The cars look sexy to me and I really like the name🤗🤗
It’s encouraging to see, but we don’t see enough PR and marketing being done. Also affordability, resale value, access to spare parts and all are some of the issues a consumer would consider before purchasing

When you wear your off brand sneakers at school and get bullied. Nord LOL
Most of the great automakers around the world began their journey to global domination by making affordable, reliable, and humble vehicles for the everyman. Sports and luxury came later. Nigerian automakers don't want to follow their steps, apparently.
How many air bags in the vehicle
Safety matters
Should start making vehicle for the common, man, car for taxi.
Lack national pride😢
I love the guy nord is seems honest and truthful..
Even if there are parts built in China and the assembly / 31% manufacture happens in Africa – that is how the Japanese and Chinese started. The next thing is for African companies to copy and then make the parts better than the Chinese can.
Go back to the 50's and 60's – a lot of Japanese motorbikes were exact copies of European motorbikes.
Because of colonization and slavery, Africans everywhere have a inferiority complex. They think everyone's ice is colder. When will this stop?
Sorry friend it was not factory it was warehouse. Where they are doing manufacturing are they even doing assembly or everything is just for show.
