  1. I'm definitely using safari – I would rather use Firefox, and I did for a while, but I really miss the great tab syncing between iOS and Mac when I'm using it because I definitely prefer safari on my phone. chrome is a huge memory hog, eats up battery, and gives my info to google (not that they're not getting it anyway, but I don't have to make it /that/ easy for them). that being said, if sequoia's new passwords app allows me to use my iCloud Keychain passwords in Firefox, I may make the switch back on my laptop.

  2. The mathced handwriting in the Cal app is wild tech. Not even using AI (so they say) to mimick handwriting is probably one of the most advanced thing I have seen on any device anywhere. It keeps notetaking original which is a nice touch, especially if you are going to show what the work is. My question to Apple is how would work be shown if completing a sample math assignment on iPad?

  3. Ugh, I miss the old David. He’s giving off real LTT vibes to me. ie his head’s starting to get too big. Even if he’s right, his passion comes off panicky and it’s killing the level headed vibe of the pod for me. Hoping for a comeback because this was my favorite podcast, but been leaning towards MBD for their vibes recently.

  4. Apple control center had me thinking of the edge panels. Just the idea of having pages of things that may not require you to go into the settings or something. It's kind if neat. To me at least

  5. The majority of iPhone users use safari , because it’s the best mobile browser hands down . Chrome is trash , no ad blocks extensions no read mode . Even the android users use mostly other browsers than chrome . Chrome is good on desktop only , in everything else is trash .

  6. There's one thing I want Mail to do that Eudora used to do, that I also haven't seen in any other email client.

If you option-clicked on a subject or a sender, it would bring all the other messages with that subject or sender together where you clicked. It's so useful and I used it all the time.

    Does any app do this?

  7. To sum up the video: whatever customisation ios 18 features were announced, looks good on the surface but is a terrible execution as its giving ios users power like they have never seen or experienced before and are most likely to end up with horrible results.

  8. It's funny everyone on here thinks it's Tinder people are hiding when maybe I just don't want people knowing what apps I use because they don't need to know. Also, not everyone uses Tinder or dating apps. I guess you guys don't password protect your phones either. Sometimes this podcast is really out of touch.

  9. One opinion from the other side tho, I really don’t see the issue of the green blue bubble thing, I still wanna have color differences to know that the messages I sent was thru internet or sms. For where I’m from sms is extra cost for most of cases. I know in us and most countries in EU sms is usually unlimited, but it not the case in the rest of the world tho, for example Far est Asia . If it’s the same color, it would be a catastrophe, I could imagine that the billing of the month would have a lot of surprises. Sharing this idea because I never heard you guys seeing this issue from this point of view.

  10. I actually like the term Apple Intelligence because it brands a limited domain of features.

Artificial Intelligence is basically a lie because what it really is is machine learning or contextual prediction and really has no intelligence at all really – AI implies heuristic understanding whereas what we have is observation of patterns.

A real AI should have the ability to handle never before seen situations or requests and handle them and handle them in an analogous manner to other situations and requests, but instead what we're currently branding AI hallucinates.

  11. My HomePod played True by Avicii when Andrew said “hey siri, play that trivia music”. Hilarious. Great update by Apple but this whole Apple intelligence coming to iPhone 15 pro and newer sucks because it means that everything before that is basically stuck in the old Siri stone ages?????

  12. I gotta say yalls argument about the customization is… dumb. You don’t say this stuff about android users being about to customize their screen to look like absolute garbage. And you guys complain about lack of customization on iPhones. And then it comes and you’re like ‘no it’s trash because it could look bad’. Which is exactly why Apple didn’t want to do it? What a circle of hypocritical nonsense. 😂

  13. I have no idea why but my iPad’s Siri loves to listen to you guys, but never my phone. Siri set a timer for 7am on my iPad which was on the other side of my room. Is there a way to revert back to the “hey, Siri” instead of just “Siri”?

Update, I figured it out 😎

  14. It is so arrogant to say people shouldn’t be able to customize their home screens because YOU who will never see 99.99999999% of them don’t like the way some of them will look. Why would any well adjusted adult even care what’s on other people’s screens?

  15. anyone that remembers the Facebook integration in iOS? Somehow I get the same vibes with the ChatGPT integration, seems a hype base feature and that seems unlike apple. Idk..
