Most diet pills instruct a person to start out with one a day and gradually increase. This isn't the norm.

DNP is not a diet pill. It's a pesticide. A side effect of the pesticide is weight loss due to a huge body temp increase, which can kill you. It's not a weight loss pill, dude. I think Dantrolene is the only thing that can help if you OD on DNP. Well, that and an ice bath, but it's all very dangerous.

One would think these "doctors" would have done a bit more research on DNP before airing this episode rather than saying "pills bad, but I don't know much about them"
What is DNP? It is highly toxic and not intended for human consumption. An industrial chemical, it is sold illegally in diet pills as a fat-burning substance. Users experience a metabolism boost, leading to weight loss, but taking even a few tablets can be fatal. 2,4-Dinitrophenol (DNP) is a known uncoupler of oxidative phosphorylation that clinically results in hyperthermia, tachycardia, tachypnea, and metabolic acidosis. Overdoses of DNP are often fatal and there is no specific reversal therapy. Apparently, you are supposed to take one pill. I think it is known that 2 – 3 pills can actually kill you so why anyone would take 8 pills is plain absurd madness if not suicidal. These pills are full of industrial chemicals not fit for human consumption. Why ANYONE would even consider taking one pill is plain and simply reckless stupidity. If you take these pills you need to hand in your adult card as obviously, forget that you totally fail at critical thinking but you are in fact an idiot and not capable of making rational logical decisions.
