  1. She survived her own misguided adventures not African Spirituality. What was the contents of her hearts, her intents and passions. When you fall fouls of the guidelines, you will fall into the abyss. Secondly she has not freed herself from the slave bondage, that is where she supposed to start from, cleans herself from the shackles of her slave ancestors to become a free person.

  2. Just as there are true spiritual practitioners, there are fake 1s as well so don't generalise it all if uve been duped. Mekra, okyereade sikansuo, & King Emmanuel of great healer tv are only a few genuine spiritual practitioners I personally know in Ghana. So u didn't have the right people to lead u. And spirituality is suppose to help u find ur inner self & inner abilities so any other practices other than that u should be careful.

  3. African spirituality is not a thing to be taken at face value. It is very hard and difficult, and when you finally attain it, you will realize the light and truth of creation. Even many Africans cannot go through the rituals and initiations into the path of African Spirituality. The sister went about her spiritual journey the wrong way, this is why she was scammed. The Greeks had their unique spiritual journey which they learned from Ancient Egypt, the American Indians are likewise, and so too are the Aborigines of Australia and the Maoris in New Zealand and many others. The reconnection to nature and God is not an easy undertaking. The sister obviated from the right way and became disenchanted when it did not work for her. It's inappropriate for her to say that Africans worship evil. First, she must define what evil is. She seems educated but she was naive to think that Afrcan spirituality could be attained by some petty activities. Her mind was not focused. Was she in Africa to travel to several countries in Africa or was she there for spiritual enlightenment? That's the question.

  4. One thing I do know, honoring the divine beings (our ancestors) should not be used for entertainment purposes. Where is the respect ! Westerners have destroyed African spirituality and trying to destroy and steal Africa's riches. To me African spirituality has been demonized just like you said… The answer to your question? Maybe someone was in there, may be not. I respect my ancestors whole heartedly, I will continue to respect them and continue to learn more about African spirituality – knowledge of self is what it's all about. ASE

  5. I graduated from an H.B.C.U. considered one of the oldest and best, reading WHEN THINGS FALL APART and writing a detailed report was part of the curriculum in History 101. I am very aware of Black history in the WEST and on the CONTINENT, it is very sad to see how RACISM, COLONIZATION and CAPITALISM the unholy trinity as George Padmore so eloquently discussed during his time working to develop true PAN AMERICANISM continues to cripple AFRICA and BLACKS in generally GLOBALLY. Additionally, the festival is another way for hustlers to make money, it's unfortunate but if you are someone that believes in MAGIC then you will be inclined to believe in what those organizers of the festivals are pushing. A you-tuber can only discuss what is before him/her, it's the viewer that needs to make an unbiased decision to believe or not to believe!

  6. How CHRISTIANITY CAME TO WEST AFRICA… THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

As the 1455 bull indicates, at first the Church officially limited African slave trading to Alfonso of Portugal. Regardless, other European groups soon followed. During the late fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, French and English mariners occasionally attempted to raid or trade with Portuguese settlements and autonomous African communities. During the War of the Castilian Succession (1475-1479), the Spanish faction supporting Isabel—future Queen Isabel of Castile—directly challenged Portuguese claims in western Africa, sending large fleets to raid the Cape Verde Islands and conduct trade near Elmina. Despite Castile’s formal recognition of Portuguese interests in western Africa, stipulated in the treaties of Alcáçovas (1479) and Tordesillas (1494), voyages organized in Andalucia and the Canary Islands continued to visit African ports.

The Papal Bull of 1455 justified the expansion of (black) African slavery within early Iberian colonies, and the acquisition of more African captives and territory, but the same decree also provided a legal framework for sub-Saharan Africans to negotiate with Iberian authorities on equal footing, and to make claims of their own, should they convert to Christianity. Perhaps the best-known example of

  7. What’s African Cosmology?
** African cosmology describes the various creation myths and narratives seeking to understand the origin of the planet, existence, and our place within the network of space that originates in Africa. Specifically, Africa has many creation myths coming from the continent's many different cultures

Like other cosmologies from around the world, African cosmologies usually begin with some description of the beginning state of the universe and the events and/or beings that precipitates the beginning of creation: earth, life, and the origin of humanity. Within the African cosmology, some creation myths can be categorized as monotheistic in nature (i.e. Christian or Muslim), focused on deities outside of Christianity or Islam, and as elemental stories in which the water, sky, and earth are separated.

  8. This lady moved to another country with the Boss babe single woman type of lifestyle without the covering and protection of a husband that the typical sistas in America choose to live and the people took advantage of that because their country doesn't work that way. Now that she is in a relationship with a good guy she's having a better go at things as stated in the video.

  9. I dont think she met good people in the practice. There are bad people in every practice/religion. I have met more terrible Christian people than people who practice any form of vodou. I also think she didnt do her research, ask enough questions, etc. And those who say well Africa is still poor…. Maybe its not sbout looking the richest. My half brother is a pastor. He parades around like he got so much money…. He doesnt. He refuses to get a job because the church cant pay him a living wage. He refuses to save the money he does get. But i look like the poor one in comparison to him on social media. But ive always had stable housing, petrol in my car, money to fix my car, groceries, lights on, etc. I wouldn't want Africa to look like Europe or America. Its a peace of mind you get there living in a souped up little house watching the elephants walk by the village that will never happen in America. Some people think a particular religion will make thrm rich. Africa is already that. Difference is most ive met don't feel the need to look like others to prove it. They enjoy actually being happy and content with life.

  10. Truth be told you going to ghana to reconnect with your roots was the bad decision. If you know the history of ghana you would know that. Its a very closed society and you were looked at as an outsider. They would only want your money and blessings

  11. We on the continent and country even know that all these narratives are all scam. Please consult well before taking important decisions, and blaming it on the continent. Its all ignorace, and has nothing to do with you being an American.

  12. I fail to understand!
Which God are you worshipping now?
Why would you put all gods as one?" African Gods"
    They have names? Don't they?

Just be specific & read the African history for every country/tribe/culture/tradition/custom,
    It's alot.

Don't put everything on one plate!

  13. There are beautiful African traditional religions today, in the past and will be tomorrow. The idea that somehow in the 250,000 years of human civilization the Sacred had no relationship with us – and that we can only know God secondhand from Whites, Arabs and Indians is so sad.

We have no confidence in ourselves at all, at a very fundamental level. Hence our poverty, conflict and confusion. The abundant nations pray to their own gods. They pull the world to them, to their Meccas and Vaticans. If we are not the center of our own world and keep believing that the holy land is somewhere else – thats why we can allow the looting, the extraction and ecological destruction.

  14. Disgraceful story. Cos i am sure in d US she came across lots of africans who serve Jesus and don't worship idols. Plus she is making bogus claims about d cause of her illness. Lots of bugs in any place u are not born cos of low immunity.

  15. HIII🎉😮… WRONG LOVE WE ARE TRUE ISREAL…AND SOME FROM AFRICA 🌍🎉😮READ THE BIBLE AND HISTORY TOGETHER 😮THIS WILL HELP ……ALSO ..WATCH HEBREWS 2 NEGREOS 1 AND 2😮😮😮😮

  16. If you keep blaming others, you'll never get out of your dilemma. Almost all cultures experience hardships and trauma from the past. Only those that stop blaming others survive and prosper.

  17. As a Christian, you’re not supposed to worship any idols but I’m very happy that she telling her story. People want to say that the Bible come from the west if you do your research, the first Bible came from Ethiopia out of Africa way before King James..

  18. So glad you are out of this. I use to ask you to stop it. To come out of it. God loves you That was very dangerous. So many other people from the diaspora are coming into Africa being deceived by witchcraft. God is with you. Many people were praying.

  19. She was way, way, way outside her lane and depth dealing with the knock off version of spiritual we get in America. Africa is root of all religions. Whatever she got or think she got a hold of in her initial endeavors to peddle divinations was a big wake up call. She was playing with fire and trying to sound convincing!!! STOP! Brings to mind Chinese peddling Kinte cloth to Black people; and Black people thinking they are getting a bargain and expressing their roots – not having experienced the unadulterated aspects of African spirituality, roots and culture. There are aspects of Africa that are so deep, some Africans don't even know.

  20. Please do not say "African Gods" you should talk about the specific country you were in and which tribe/s you were with. Within one country the different tribes believe in different things. My tribe for one believes in one God, our God does not require any weird sacrifices or rituals. West Africans & East Africans have very different beliefs.

  21. Very good. The corruption is great in the U.S. also. Dont let anyone deceive you into believing that the U.S. is not corrupt because its very corrupt. Stay in your own country in Africa and do what you can to make things work in your country because the world is coming to Africa now.

  22. I knew that sister was going to get herself into trouble the way she was going. She abandoned Western culture and embraced African culture 100%, more than even the locals, and educated indigenous Africans. She was warned by some people, but she was on this journey to prove everyone wrong. She married a good guy and was doing things that she would never have done with a man in America. Total submission. But that wasn't enough, she had to go all the way into the deep African spiritual real. I'm sorry, but she deserves what she gets. When people warn you about their culture, and you don't listen because you want to prove people wrong, that's what you get. Keeping it 100.

  23. I have to call it out…and yes I'm west africa from Gabon and my father is from 🇲🇱 first off alot of African religion is very mysterious and u are first stroked into its "Traditional to the ancestors" failing to understand the dark side with the absence of God all of these so called religions are very dangerous and have alot of Satanism in it just In 2021 my brother in law went back home to do a family ritual party he returns home and dies a month later he wore all types of ancient lookin relics I guess to appease the ancestors and it cost him PLEASE LADIES AND GENTLEMAN EDUCATE YOURSELF PROPERLY STOP ASSUMING EVERYTHING IN AFRICA IS PRO BLACK LEARN FIRST!!! BE SAFE

  24. So, because you got caught up with bad people, you are saying our ancestors didn't know god in our own traditional belief systems? If a pastor is no good, or if an imam is no good, do you say Christianity and Islam are no good?

  25. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT SPIRITUALITY LIKE WE AFRICANS DON'T READ BOOKS OR WRIGHT BOOK.. IT'S AN EXCUSE TO SAY YOU ARE MORE SPIRITUAL THAN BOOK SMART… GET RAID OF HER…SHE CAME TO GHANA TO DESTROY AFRICAN SPIRITUALITY… SHE'S MY ENEMY SHE FAILED SHE FAILED THE WEATHER… SHE'S LYING…

  26. Sorry, about your bad experiences. I just, need you to understand this… African Spirituality, in its actual form is about discovery your self as an individual. Connecting, with your ancestors personally. Getting, in sync with nature as an individual and not under some group or religious affiliation. It's expected, to encounter all manner of fake people claiming to be "ancient African spiritualities". Most, of the people claiming to be gifted in that aspect are fake. The fact, Africa was colonised is a proof that there are saboteurs who betrayed their own people. Robbery, is something you can experience in any part of the world. Connect, with your ancestors without belonging to any group. But, if you must connect with your ANCESTORS you have to observe and do proper research before going to anyone. Colonisation, is still very much in place in Africa. The actual, African Spirituality would not tolerate anyone stealing from anyone. You went, to some group of scammers parading themselves as African spiritualists. I am an African who now connect with my ANCESTORS. And there is no way i will cheat or steal on another soul. Africans, are still under colonial mindset so expect such things to happen if you end up in the wrong hands.

  27. How many Africans are into what you are describing? If you meet 100 people, you cant get 20% doing what you did. Yet you describe it as if every African is into that. There are powers and there are scammers but we know the effects so we dont meddle in it. You come here and you want to meddle in that.

  28. I'm gonna have to tell E.S. this: For your safety please stop condemning their practices or leave. You are taking the path of the Notorious African-American, Art Cathy who made so much trouble in The Gambia.
Vodu played a key part in kicking the British out of Ghana. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah consulted Nogokpo Shrine. But since Christians do you want that to be known, they block it that information from history.
Haiti people carried vodu with them the slave travel from West Africa. It was vodu that gave them the power to revolt and become the first black slaves to be freed. How do diaporans think Africans traveled for 100s of kilometers and months and still returned home even without a map or gps????
You are attacking age-old traditions. You are feeling that way because it's an American thing to try to do things for fun or because it's cool. What were you looking for? E.S.??? What were you looking for??? Vodu is practiced only As Needed. What do you mean you "survived" African spirituality? It has its own justice system. It is a NO-NONSENSE tradition. If you are a good person, you are protected by good forces. It's as simple as that. It's a problem when people try to find comparisons and disimilarity. In voodoo, and many other spirituality, there is no good or bad. In spirituality of all kinds, you access the past, present, future. Your interact with the living and the dead; saints, demons and angels. If you afraid of the dark, you are afraid of another realm that you are not comfortable with.

  29. You can run but you can't hide, them lies, them seasons, them lessons, them passages, them lives, them folks, follow you wherever you are…

Ain't nothing outside of your being, the answers are within… A lifetime of my learning for us… sighs

  30. I'm glad Eat, Love Migrate lived to tell the tale. African Americans often ignore the advice of Africans living in the USA. I remember telling this lady to avoid this voodoo and she totally lashed out saying I was brainwashed by the whiteman's gods. Just like i told her not to make a thatched roof in her initial house and to use solar panels, and she said she wanted mother nature types of building without too much modernity.
Glad that she has finally seen the reality. Everything has two sides! You just cannot focus on one side and forget about the other. The fact that voodoo was the ancient religion of Africans did not mean that there were no bad sides to it. Which the traditional worshippers of the religion REFUSED to reform. Thus, a lot of Africans don't practice it because it failed to evolve with human civilization.

  31. west africa is known for its witchcraft and beliefs and we can see it in places like haiti.. one of the reasons why those places look different from other parts of africa.
