Lagos Market Food Shopping + Increasing Cost of Food in Nigeria!

#LagosMarket #SisiYemmie #FoodShopping

I enjoy taking you food shopping with me especially when I go to Lagos Markets. The cost of food is increasing everyday…it is ridiculous! I had to cut corners and didn’t buy most of what I’d typically buy.

  1. Whaow Nigeria has various kinds of food items, I have never seen in my life hey makes me feel like my side of Africa is a bit watered down fake kind of African experience – whaat?? I am still wondering the three things you bought from a yellow bucket what were they , they looked strong like bones yet not shaped like bones – you guys have alot of food choices hey

  2. What does periwinkle tastes like, fishy ? And is it crunchy or does the shell on it soften up after cooking ? I guess Okra soup here is a acquired taste. I can’t get pass the slime. I love okra, but haven’t always because of its texture. After cutting up my okra I prefer to season it up real good with my favorite spices and bake it at a high temp, or fry it in order to avoid the slimy. I’ll add it to my soup after it’s baked, as more of a garnish, like shredded cheese on top of chili. From what I understand this okra soup, most love it slimy. Enjoy watching other people styles of cooking. I learn a lot from it. Your shopping VLOG is proof that the price of food is going up all over the world. We City Folks are going to have to start growing and raising our own food in green spaces. Apartment living gives me no space for a garden. I did plant two tomato plants this year in big pots. Can’t wait until I get my first green tomatoes. I love fried green tomatoes, so good. SisiYemmie have you ever cooked fried green tomatoes before ?

  3. Watching from Sweden 🇸🇪.
My husband is Nigerian and he has not been in Nigeria 🇳🇬 for too long time. Watching this will not only bring memories but also help us to know better how things are when we send money to our family. You don’t want to talk money all the time with the family. This was very helpful and me I loved to see the Lagos market. I will show it to my husband and to our kids so they know more about their origin.

  4. Love African markets video God bless all African women who sell at the market and now there are a lot of men too God bless them too 👍👍👍🙏❤🇬🇭

  5. It's not good for food to be xpensive how are people gonna survive ,families, children? It's not a gud thing to sleep on an empty stomach something must be done let's help each other brothers and sisters please.

  6. Hi sisi yemmie, you are doing great work in some areas but your bargain price/power is low. Do not be ashame to price like kilode 🤣
Your next market vlog let us see changes. Greetings to your lovely family.

  7. We're consumers in Nigeria, if it's not from western countries, it has to be from the government. All jobless people are complaining too when they can help themselves and others by farming

  8. This video makes me miss Nigeria. I remember as a young girl my mom's market day was like an outing to me. I like the walking around and pricing of items. People shouting my customer my customer. 🇳🇬

  9. Honestly, I can't say this enough.

All we need is the establishment of a few green farms that could grow different species of perishables.

Na money all of us dey chop now.

  10. It's so sad how expensive food stuffs are in the country and people don't earn much.
I'm not a meat fan and the reason I spent up to 1k on vegetable soup was when I used cat fish.
For normal frozen fish, i could make do with 500 naira buying from boundary market.
Just within the space of one year, everything just changed.
May God help us in Nigeria.

  11. Watching from Nairobi, Kenya! I love how similar yet variable the goods are over there as compared to our local markets.
Sad that the cost of living is ridiculous across the world. But hey, I actually enjoy Nigerian delicacies, courtesy of my bae from Akure and I have learned to prepare ‘em soups! That kind of pepper remains unbeatable!

I can’t wait for my next visit into that beautiful culture. Bless up!

  12. Did I just hear that piece of cow meat going for N6,500? I remember returning to Nigeria after 2 years away and bumped into my barber. Decided to buy a carton of Indomie for his young son. Something that was sold N1,900 when I left was now N4,200. I cannot describe the shock I got. Even a cooked egg now goes for N80 in some places.
