  1. Since our France 98 match against Denmark, that was the last time i got so emotionally intense with football generally. I remembered i cried. Since that time, i assess the whole thing.

Truth is that there are so many factors that determines the final score of any match. Referees, players, spectators, family issues, health, time and unforeseen events, a single mistake, emotional state, mentality etc. No one controls all these factors single-handedly. They are mutually inclusive and exclusive. Knowing these things has helped me to keep a balanced view when watching any match.

  2. Rest in Peace Sirs…
    😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
FootBall don turn Obituary Announcement. I hope Sunday's disaster will be averted now.
Let's all allow ARSENAL Fans & Women to watch that Game. They are made of timber and caliber.
They should watch and commune to us.

  3. Nigerians, we never win thr tournament first, vwe don't they share money 😂. Make una no use corruption jinx the Final o, before more people die from heart attack

  4. It is sad to hear that Kayode Tijani is late may his soul rest in peace. A very pasionnate sport Journalist that do go extra miles to research & archived past games of both national and international matches of the various countries' national teams, the local and foreign clubs' matches.
    He will really be missed.

  5. When football kill you, what will you tell God. Let’s take it easy o. It’s just a game. Mat the Lird have mercy on his passionate soul.
May the Lord console his family and other families.

  6. All people are saying is that whatever portion belongs to the players and coaches should be credited to their accounts directly from the source. No one is saying all the money should be squandered. Experience in the past has shown that what is due these players is usually hijacked one way or the other. This must stop.

  7. May the souls of the departed rests in Perfect Peace Amen. Experience had thought us to be careful when watching the most popular sports in the world .The Vice president of Nigeria was on hand to watch the soccer games .All that went to watch the games , any lesson learned seeing the best of Stadium in that country? When will Nigeria got to the level of appropriating money for building good stadium and raods for their citizens .People are saying that those French colonies in Africa are doing relatively better than the British colonized country, why is this phenomenon? Cross over to Togo from Nigeria , you will understamd what we are saying . The super Eagles will win at the final , I will wait for the result and will not watch the final live .The penalty shoot out almost destroyed my heart too.Folks, dont watch the game live if you can not cope .

  8. Please can someone kindly pass my message to Nigerian super Eagle to wear black tags on their hands on the day of final match to mon this our brothers who pass away on the cause of Nigeria and South Africa match, and may God bless there souls rest in peace

  9. Nigeria is weak has never beaten south Africa. Penalties is weak win expected from great nation like ours Nigerians, Shame to boast on such win which I don't call win

  10. Please, people, sports is entertainment.Nigeria got this one for so many reasons, but sometimes your team is going to lose. Nobody is going to win all the time that is just reality of life.

  11. Stanley Nwabali should think twice before returning to South Africa…we shouldn't forget that South Africa is a xenophobic Country…
Anyways…God Almighty would protect him from all harm.

  12. My heartfelt condolences to all the bereaved families. At the same time I'm asking all those who have heart problems or hypertension to please stay away from watching the final football match on Sunday in Abidjan.
Just wait for highlights after the match and your lives won't be in danger at all.

  13. I fully agree with the spot reporter guy about the way the money should be shared.. The players should be rewarded handsomely so in the future they will put 💯 percent effort into their games.

  14. Maybe I’m loosing my comprehension…. Do I understand that these five Nigerians died during the semifinals due to some sort of MEDICAL ISSUES PROBABLY HYPERTENSION ???. When the news came on, I thought they were attacked or involved in an accident.
If the cause of their death was medical events, then it’s about time people start taking their health VERY SERIOUSLY.
May they RIP. It’s good to accumulate wealth, but find the time to check on your health.. Even checking your blood pressure on a VERY REGULAR BASIS may save lives.

  15. The referee should be hold responsible for the death of this four Nigeria men who lost their life during the match between Nigeria and South Africa. We Nigerians have to take that referee to court.

  16. . RIP to all those who passed away due to this match

However, People with medical conditions or know that they cannot take the tension should be advised not just watch the live match

Nwabali should please take the threat of the South Africa seriously

CAF should pay the footballers, coach, backups , the money. Because I don’t trust the NFA or the Nigerian government.

NFA should be transparent as much as possible regarding the conveyor belt

  17. Good medical advice, Dr. Abati. Moreover, please, may you and our man Rufai not relent on making sure the money that is paid to Super Eagles goes to the players, and not to any of those corrupt embezzling Football organizations.
May the soul of the departed REST IN PEACE.

  18. THE PLAYER THAT CAUSED THE PENALTY AGAINST NIGERIA SHOULDN'T BE IN THE LINE UP. IN SHORT,HE SHOULDN'T COME NEAR THE MATCH VENUE.. LET HIM STAY IN HIS HOTEL ROOM.

  19. The fact that the entire nation's happiness rests on the Super Eagles attests to the fact that Nigeria is a failed nation. We have suffered and despaired so much as Nigerians in this country that the only thing that gives us any glimmer of hope or joy is the national team.😢 God have mercy on us!
