  1. I was in the Royal Air Force for twelve years. The food was mostly garbage. But down in the Falklands the food was excellent…better standard of food, higher quality produce. No idea how that works with it being so far away from the UK!

Watching this reminds me of my Dad, he was in the British Army (it was compulsory service) and he used to say that if they ever did anything wrong one of the punishments was peeling, chopping and often cooking potatoes for the meals, this was all done by hand and I admit he made a darn mean portion of chips and roast pots pet alone mash potatoes. He said it used to often be a whole night of just peeling and chopping potatoes to help the cooks (there were loads of different punishments he said this one wasn't too bad but he hated having to clean the loos or the like as depending on how bad you mucked up depended on the size of your cleaning brush 🤣)
