  1. When he lost and moved up weight class, he actually lost because he had a hard time maintaining his weight. That's why he decided to move up weight class.

Regarding your question if it's better to throw more punches than conserve energy, it really depends.
You can feel if your opponent is ready to go. That's when you throw to finish the match
Usually the first round they try to conserve energy and assess the opponent's distance and power.
The middle rounds is where you want to score points or knock out the opponent.
The later rounds, or what other says championship rounds, that's when you want to maintain your lead or catch up in points

  2. manny was able to move up in weight classes because he was underweight and malnourished at that time. his ideal body weight is welterweight, making it difficult for other boxers to attain 8 weight divisions.

  3. bro, throwing a lot of punches is a good idea
but try it with gloves and you will get tired fast
if you throw punches and you hit nothing but air, your stamina will be gone fast

  4. There are different reasons as to why boxers move up in weight, it could be because they've already cleared up their previous weight division and wants to have new challenges or because they were in a division which is unnatural for them causing them to dehydrate just to make weight. For Manny its both of the reasons because first of all he was malnourished at the start of his career thats why he was at a low weight division, but he still managed to clear up his division and with the money he earned he slowly became more healthy and in turn gained weight thats why he moved up divisions quickly and without loosing any speed and strength.

  5. 16:45 Manny's fighting style is one of a kind, his punches generates from his legs shifting while doing combos and moving forward/backward. Nobody can imitate it which makes it hard for his opponent to find a sparring. Back in his younger years he trains 28-36 rounds per day!

  6. 5:10 i think boxers move up or down weightclasses for many reasons but the issue is how effective will you be going out of your natural division. Pacquiao's natural division is at 135-140lbs but he fought alot at 147lbs because the big name fighters are in that division which is the big payday.
Of course there are plenty more other reasons.
