She should have asked why Zahi and most Egyptians in the north are no longer "dark skinned". The Europeans have dictated to the world the racial categories. I use the racial categorization of whoever has working melanocytes and subsequently obvious melanin in their skin then they are of the Black race though their ethnicity may be an Asian one, Australoid one, Polynesian one, etc.
In some parts of the world all pale skinned people are white. In other parts of the world pale skinned people are white unless they have a recent Black ancestor. The exclusion of pale skinned people with Black ancestry is obviously due to mixing.
