  1. We have been understudying expats since the '70s with nothing to show for it. We need to recognize that we don't have the capacity and stop this idea of understudying.

  2. Instead of foreigner running, why not try consultancy for those who will mange and pass on training. And you have a lot of youths overseas who are capable plus the extra brilliant ones on the ground.

Start with consultancy, when you get outsiders they might just only be disrespectful to those below and the people. At least your own will benefit…or your give the outsider like 5-7 years to manage and other brilliant thinkers to learn from while ensuring that they pass on the information! You don't want them holding the top always. ❤

  3. Importers/shippers from eastern region do not prefer sending their containers to Lagos ports, rather Nigeria government beurocracy and wicked politics have been the reason eastern ports have been made redundant.

  4. If not corruption, I don't see why every region should not have seaport . Every region in Nigeria is productive , and federal government is not interested. This will even create more employment

  5. It is not SouthEast but Southern ports from Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers Cross Rivers and Akwa Ibom. Do south east have sea? South east can only talk about harbour because they have River Niger. A really heavy duty cargo ship doesn’t sail on river for it will be grounded.

  6. South East acclaimed elites are they worst in the whole world who never puts their own people benefits first in the affairs of governance. They couldn't even fight hard to bring common sea port for their people . Even Kaduna have dry port.

  7. I have noticed that Nigerians are so much jealous of Igbos. there must be international Airport and Seaport in South East. West should offload their containers in lagos while Easterners should offload their containers in Aba likewise international Airport

  8. Mr. Temisan Omatseye is right, let's get the right people for the jobs. The problems of Nigeria, nepotism, tribalism, corruption. I wonder what happened to MERITOCRACY, a must factor that propels nations to progress and development.

  9. South east governors should weck up from sleeping to do the needful Lagos did so they can do it we other regions in Nigeria are against it they should weck up

  10. 🤔 Hmmm! Generation that doesn't care what transpired during the Civil war.
My brother Mr. Temisan Omatseye is just saying what shouldn't be said.
The West and the North decided to keep the East down after the Civil war and only succeeded in keeping the entire Nation down 50 years long or more.
The present vice President said it all in his Leaked audio telephone conversation with a former governor from the West.
Nigeria is afraid of the Igbos BASTA!
NO meaningful international Airport, Embassy or consulate in the former South East,in a country called a FEDERATION.
Companies afraid of their workers security is a recent problem but the negligence of the South East has been DECADES.
    The same thing with NEPA.

  11. Smart people and serious country goal is to export not import rubbish finished goods like the Igbos are doing. Why are you bragging about being an importer? That’s dumb! America, China, Japan, Korea all want to export more than they import its called trade deficit. Some people need to learn before embarrassing themselves. Onne port is working, the government even provided discounts for importers to use the port but they all use the Lagos port because business and money is between Lagos and Ogun states.

  12. We can’t keep blaming the Federal government. States Governments should start doing something with the allocations they get. Eastern Region needs seaports

  13. The Igbo can never be trusted with anything in Nigeria hence, the Nigerian government doesn’t want to spend money on anything that could possibly lead to development in the Igbo states, as their utmost priority is to break away from Nigeria and if it doesn’t happen now, it will happen in the nearest future. The Igbo people will leave Nigeria so there is no point of developing any part of the country that has been working secretly and openly to secede from Nigeria.

  14. My own opinion is that the ministry of blue economy should prioritise maritime transport and modernise it, that is one big area neglected in Nigeria, the river line areas have a lot of expanse and we don't have an efficient transport system supporting those river lines, it will create more jobs and explore more opportunities that lies in the maritime sector.

  15. This should be a clear message to the Yorubas who boasts they have Lagos sea port. Over 70% of the transactions there are done by the Igbos. Imagine if they switch to an Eastern sea port, Lagos sea port becomes empty. "There was a country".

  16. The only reason a sea port has not been fully developed in the entire Eastern region is to strangle the Igbos economically. If this was in the north, it would have been developed long time ago. "There was a country".

  17. Mr. Temisan Omatseye was very honest in his analysis. He said that "We need the right people in the right position". This is what killed Nigeria's Economy as we speak, where people are placed in positions that they know nothing about in the name of "Quota System".

  18. What happened to the preshipment inspection arrangements the FG had with Intertek, Cotecna and the other inspectors, there were three of them for three global regional destinations. Is that our problem. Our main problem is tribal lens we use to view everything.

  19. Wow! There you see where your problem lies.
Anti-Igbo bigots running government agencies using their bigoted mindsets.
He says "East is landlocked". It is landlocked to you anti-bigots of Nigeria, but it was landlocked to the European colonizers who used the Eastern ports to transport Timbers, palm oil, palm kernel etc from the East.
    A failed State called Nigeria.
    A make-believe country, a fake, kangaroo country.
