They are wrong about the languages, Italian is not a main language in Eritrea! Although Eritrea was an Italian colony until the end of WW2, Less than 1% of the people in Eritrea barely speak Italian! Eritrea doesn’t have a main language as the 9 languages spoken by the 9 Ethnic groups in Eritrea are considered equal! Eritrea has three “working languages” 1. Tigrinia 2. Arabic 3. English
They are accurate about military conscription though there is some context, just like many countries in the world i.e. South Korea, Israel, Switzerland and many others, mandatory military conscription is required for all “of age” citizens that live in Eritrea due to the territorial threat the country has had to overcome in the last 80 years due to it’s southern neighbor Ethiopia, which is 30x greater in population..
