Oldest continuously Black-owned business in the nation began as a stop in the Underground Railroad


Founded in 1881, E.E. Ward Moving & Storage is the oldest continuously Black-owned business in America. What started as a stop for the Underground Railroad has flourished into one of most trusted moving companies in the country. David Muir has the story.

  1. Wish every black person here in the United States 🇺🇸 had their own little business/company/corporation I think it would differently improve their life and enrich the African community here in this country it would definitely pull people out of poverty.

  2. The company is registered as a black owned company.

    The man is his godson.

    In usa, if youre black and mixed race, you can register a business as black owned.

    Im just happy to know the cmpany is around this many years. I hope they stay in business.

Why is the all these monthly celebrations why is their not one month for white history why is everything so one-sided when it comes to most of these people you don't see Chinese history month or Japanese history month how bout Mexican history or Canadian history you see there a broader spectrum than black people

    Like they did anything else that was black ..successful or not

  5. Forgive me for being confused but I believe I saw WHITE owners…. The creator was indeed black but the man and his wife at the end were certainly not…..
