DRC is wealthy in natural reserves including diamonds & a vast range of gem stones , oil the country was split due to these resources & skew ways of distribution. The problem with African countries like the drug countries of s.america is local corruption that allows foreigners to fund wars & extract the wealth for free !

Lets not forget that instability in DRC started with the CIA backed assasination of it's leader Patrice Lumumba. The Americans then instilled their own puppet Mobutu who was very instrumental in helping keep the country divided as the west plundered Congo's vast resources.
