  1. Claiming that she has social anxiety and that she doesn’t want to get off the couch it’s kind of concerning really concerning they could’ve just bought like a psychologist to the house to work with her and hopefully get her moving, but I never met anyone who had it that severe that they didn’t feel comfortable in their own home. If you have social anxiety, you’ll be scared to leave the house or we talk to anyone who comes over the house that you’re not familiar with. But that’s just weird to not get off the couch at all due to the anxiety. Then I get social anxiety at times, but I never get stuck to my bed. Also, knowing that she has a problem, why would they go on a vacation leaving her in the home by herself, especially if she was acting that way before and giving her a sandwich thinking that she’s gonna eat it it’s making them even look more guilty

  2. She was friendly? trying to get out. She was sweet? trying not to get in trouble. rural area? fewer facilities. running through tall grass? tick bites.

threatened? possible. "as soon as you get off this couch I'm wooping your ass for being lazy." would make even a grown woman shiver, especially if this was a common punishment.

its possible they wooped her ass so often that she had tailbone injuries that caused limited range of mobility.

but also, she's a woman, not a little kid. maybe her parents thought she could take care of herself. then when she didnt get off the couch, they were in denial and thought maybe she'd revive if they prayed, like jesus.

oh also I pity the poor woman. she was likely horribly dehydrated too. hence turning yellow.

  3. thank you for talking about locked in syndrome <3 my uncle has suffered from this for over 11+ yrs and it's the worst thing ever he truly is the smartest man ever, always wanted to do something computer related, and he is so intelligent i just wish he could've done the one thing he wished to do. Thank you for covering this!!!1

  4. What I don’t understand is that the smell of death literally clings to EVERYTHING even your skin how did people not notice and say anything??? like if your mayor smells like decomp isn’t that suspicious at all😭😭😭

  5. Interesting video, somehow i had no idea about this case 🤔 you did a great job on it 😀 Talking of crazy Internet rabbit holes, I'll give you a word of advice. If you have a sudden urge to research the Jun Lin murder case who was killed by Luka Magnotta, just dont, or if you do just stop at the crime scene and autopsy photos, really don't click on videos or you could go down the rabbit hole I went down and you could end up watching the 11 minute video of the murder, and you get to see the poor guy get stabbed, beheaded dismembered necrophilia and cannibalism, oh and watch a puppy eat the body too !! 😳. So you have now been warned, really don't go down that rabbit hole. I've been interested in true crime from childhood, im also ocd so I like to do my research including looking at crime scene photos, however, even i found that rabbit hole really beyond disturbing, and I've been reading about seriel killers since I was 8, nothing bothers me, but there is something very different about reading about a case and looking at photos after the fact to watching it happen !! 😕 and no I won't tell you the name of the video, if you are that desperate to see it, you can go down the same rabbit hole I did as I refuse to post the link where kids could see it

  6. The most depressed I’ve ever been, I didn’t talk to anyone for 6-8 months EXCEPT role playing as someone else on world of Warcraft classic

Then I read a book that changed my life

Take responsibility for what happens, if you feel affected by something, it’s your responsibility to make peace with it. But remember, it’s also not your job to control anything or anyone, so make it a personal journey.

And when arguing with your partner, just take a knee, and hear them out. Once they’re done, ask them to keep going. Once that’s done, apologise, and ask what you can do to make things right.

    If they keep yelling, leave.
If they have a solution, try it.

  7. Being allowed bail for premeditated murder says something was highly suss about this whole (town ) situation …theres more to this than meets the eye and it screams what u said but with an "r" in the middle ….Love the opening music choice btw of all your vids ….Youre cases are presented with empathy expression and passion and you are a joy to listen to …Your friend there with u has a beautiful soothing voice and only comments when appropriate …Thankyou beautiful souls from a 65 year old fan in South Australia ….now ….which vid shall i choose next ….damn its a toughy 😂X

  8. Even if it started as stubbornness and ignorance, they could have gotten help when it got bad. Copping a slap on the wrist for child neglect is a lot better than having to deal with manslaughter 2nd charges. I genuinely think this was sadism and punishment for poor Lacey. Her parents aren’t antisocial so how could they be psychopaths? It had to come from a sinister place to leave her there like that, for 12 years!!!! 12 years!!!!! Imagine the smell? The noises and the tears!! 12 years of that 12 years of knowing, seeing, smelling, participating in this cruelty!!! 12 years!!! Wtaf… I can’t even imagine.

You have don’t such a thorough job reporting on this!! Thank you for shining a light and humanising this poor victim and really peeling back the layers on all of the excuses people are trying to paint this situation with.

  9. I'm not done with the video yet, but I guess the question I'm left with is why did it get to this point? Like even if we look at this purely selfishly, how could you stand living in a house where your couch is essentially a toilet? Why was Lacey not helped at literally any time before her death? I have no evidence for this but maybe her parents intentionally fostered her dependence on them (pulling her out of school, isolating her from others around her) to meet some kind of need in themselves. Like it's clearly not munchausen by proxy because no one knew about this but it kinda feels in that realm you know?

  10. I mean, normal parents would have totally taken her to the dr within days of her "refusing" to move from the couch or brought a dr home to check her out. As simple as that. And as an autistic person, this type of cases really infuriate me. Thank you for managing it with such care and respect. So sad for this young woman and how much she suffered, it's just horrific. 😢

  11. I used to have locked in syndrome ( or something like it) but it has gotten less active now that I’m older. But my locked in syndrome wasn’t bad because I was only locked for like 5-6 hours at most idk what this was but I was 8 at daycare and my mom had come to pick me up. I sat there and watched her scream at me “WE HAVE TO GO GET UP’!” I watched as she clawed me off the bench and shoved me in the car I was still locked and couldn’t get out of the car. I got I. A world of trouble and was grounded for weeks. ( although she didn’t know I could ent move) I DONT THIS IS LOCKED IN SYNDROME BUT ITS SOMETHING LIKE IT.

  12. i dont think they cared about her i dont know but i went thru a time where i didnt want anything to eat or talk to anyone and my parents started to talk to me more and worry about me even if i was getting upset theyd still tell me to get out of my room but it makes no sense how they can walk passed by her and see her basically melt into their couch like ‘ their good people they just made bad decisions’ that can be the case for some people but seeing ur OWN daughter die in ur couch for abt 12 years?? i think they chose to just let her die there.

  13. It sent a chill down my spine when I realized slaughter was under 2 hours away. It’s such a sad and horrible event so its like thinking how close it is just wow

  14. Lacey was on a leather couch. She was also naked. So her skin got stuck on the couch. The people who did the autopsy said that her skin was peeled off on her backside.
Poor Lacey may your soul be comforted in heaven 🕊

  15. My father is a diagnosed narcissist. My grandma was admitted to the hospital very recently with water bloating, after a long list of complications that keep occurring since she fell. When she first fell down the stairs, he removed her from hospital against medical advise. She just goes along with it because she trust and loves him. He’s the kind of person who will do experiments on himsel with snake oil stuff like MMS, or simply carrots, have adverse reaction due to overdosing for long periods of time and try something else in the same vein. He started forcing that treatment on gramma when she first got sick.
Point is, those kinds of people will delusion themselves into thinking they are right. If something goes wrong, ghey know they’re at fault. They’ll still never admit it

Edit: makes you wonder if the parents in this case did something to cause her death and were unable to admit it. 40 years with 20 suspended is a joke for a case disgusting like this

  16. So they wanna make us believe they didnt notice or mind their child never moving, the maggots in their house and on their daughter, the smell that filled their house, the excrements around their child. No one ever asked for Lacey? They never had visitors? Never opened a living room window, no neighbor smelled anything in this humid climate? The smell must have clung to these "parents". What the actual fuck. I have so many questions, am shocked, disgusted, poor Lacey🥺 this cannot be real

  17. There is an incredible anti-war movie called Johnny’s got his gun that this reminded me about he wasn’t locked in but a Vietnam vet who had all of his limbs and senses taken away from him, but he could still think what terrifying to think about for too long

  18. Actually her high school closed down after the end of her freshman year. That is why she began homeschooling. Likely the parents were already abusive and maybe if her support needs increased suddenly then maybe they decided just to give up soon after.

Also, autism generally manifests very differently in women vs in men. Usually autistic females generally are better masking in the typical ways we think of that makes people “normal”. Usually they just are a bit quirky and not like how we see in boys. So it is not too hard to believe something else very extreme happened to Lacey in order to cause her to freeze up and stop moving. Perhaps a traumatic event triggered ptsd/ shell shock, which autistic people are more likely to be affected by, and more extremely affected.

The fact that the parents never sought real help, leads me to believe they likely caused the traumatic event. Could’ve been something like routine abuse that one day pushed her over the edge, or a sudden s3xual assault by her father or someone close (perhaps also could explain her crossing her legs in a defensive position) and if she wasn’t truly unable to move, there are examples of children or abuse victims soiling themselves with excrement in order to defend themselves against more abuse. Who really knows, but I think her parents are even more guilty than we know they are for sure.

  19. Just a thought, if they had the lotion and all the care products next to her for so long, I wonder what the expiration date was on those? If they are new products and that means what? They are replacing these products over and over even though they’re not being used?if they’re expired that means they’ve been there for quite a while and just unused or they are new and sat there to stage a scenario

  20. If my son went from the energetic, bubbly boy he is, to not wanting to leave the couch, I would spend every minute of my day, and every cent I had, trying to help my baby boy. If I had to carry him to the hospital or doctor, walking the entire way, I would. Whether he turned to me with verbal abuse, or “teenage” hurtful words, I would just go “okay, you just stay there”. There’s is no excuse. These parents had a duty to their child, to protect her.

  21. I have lost a child. These parents are pure evil. There’s a special place in hell for them. I don’t care if she was hitting them or biting them. They should have called 911 and got her help. She clearly needed it. They neglected her in so many ways. The top being pulled up was to totally humiliate her. I don’t understand one thing…if the parents are telling the truth, that it was her decision, how could they be okay living like that. That’s disgusting. The mother seriously sat next her and slept…with that smell…I don’t buy it. Even with nose blindness, once you leave and come back, you will smell it. Makes me wonder if they were staying in either a different part of the home or a different building altogether. That smell would have definitely been on their clothes and in their hair. I’m so shocked. There is no way these parents loved their child. No way. No way would loving parents walk by that everyday and be okay with it. Definitely no excuse. None!

  22. As a mom of 4 children I am shocked and disturbed!! Not sure what to even say about this its horrible!!! I get upset when mine get a cold!!

  23. RN here. I know the effects of body wastes on the skin and understand the couch decomposing alongside and under her lower body. What I haven’t heard anyone talking about though is the cushion under her head that is also missing the leather and cushion. It looks as if she had been starved for a much longer time than just those last few days left alone.

  24. My younger sister has autism they way smartest than people know. she got into my phone the other day,my locked phone the only person who knows any of the two passwords on the lock screen is me so the when I found out she got into it I was beyond shock she then preceded to change the password I put on it the only log in info that wasn’t changed was the fingerprint.but then again we look alike so am wondering if she got into my phone with the face recognition

  25. i’m guessing this was close to the Genie case. They kept her confined to the couch and then when she was basically paralyzed and couldn’t get off if she wanted to, they just left her there. i wouldn’t be surprised if her mouth was stuffed with couch foam to keep her from making noise.
