The Iranian President’s helicopter went down in rough terrain in northern Iran last night. Rescuers have found the crash site and it’s not looking promising for survivors. Here’s what we know.

Regardless peoples opinion of Iran, they are the only lifeline for Armenia. For people who don't realise how thick the fog is, I travelled to Artsakh from Armenia before azerbaijan attacked & left Yerevan too late in the day which meant we copped the fog from Shushi. We had to take turns in walking in front of the car so the driver knew how to follow the road, otherwise he would most likely have driven off the edge of the mountain.
I can’t imagine flying a helicopter into fog. In the mountains

Citing Iranian state media, Business Insider reported on Monday morning that the country’s former foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, blamed U.S. sanctions that prevent the country from buying newer aircraft for forcing Raisi and the others to fly in a decades-old Bell 212 chopper.
Zarif told his country’s media that U.S. sanctions imposed in 1979 after the Iranian Revolution have kept the country from operating fleets of modern aircraft.
The official told an Iranian TV station that Raisi’s death in the outdated chopper would be “recorded in the black list of American crimes against the Iranian nation.”
