  1. Update: Chicken and Brisket has moved to Pearl City (15 min to 20 drive heading West). Please follow their Instagram @chicken.and.brisket for new address and hours.

  2. You got to check out Egghead Cafe in Kalihi located on Dillingham. They have the best break in Honolulu. Their pork belly Benedict, chorizo omelette, tiramisu pancake and lavender honey latte is the killer! highly recommend.

  3. Late to the party! But your boss/ coach is my father in law! Love seeing you rep his Kalakaua gym shirts too! Love your vids! Wish you the best!

  4. Thank you Sean for sharing these 10 food places to try in Kalihi!! This was an awesome video!! 🤩👍🏽👏🏽🙌🏽 We definitely want to try the prime rib at Ray's Cafe next time. And we love Liliha Bakery, especially their original location. The butter rolls with jelly and their mahi mahi is so good!! Mahalo! 🤙🏽

  5. So… I really like the video but to be honest, I also really hate the places you recommended lol!!!!! There are a couple of fried chicken places and I tried one… not impressed.. and some other options here are a bit too greasy to my taste. The liliha bakery… where to describe, for pastry wise, the cream puff was just ok… I had way better than that.. actually I tried so many other small bakery/cafe dessert and they taste way better than this place, the cafe was actually not that bad, I tried their mahi plate and it was pretty good for the money you pay. I would say if you are looking for comfort food place, these options are eatable. But plz don’t expect miracles. We did try some fancy restaurants (prefix menus) and those are damn good.

  6. I think that is really cool of Costco to offer $1.50 hot dog + pop. A lot of stores use to have similar offers, but now most places seem to want to gouge u @ every turn. Stores that treat their customers ill eventually lose them. Lately, I've been doing a lot of shopping in Chinatown, since they have a long history of treating me right.

  7. Hi Sean, I am coming to Hawaii in March and have been writing down all of your recommendations. Would you be able to help me with tipping at some of the different places you eat at please? E.g. food truck, hole in the wall venues etc.
    Thanks Karen

  8. This video is so great, thank you for taking the time to make this! NOTE: KC Lunch & Deli as well as 3 Star Gourmet Restaurant are now permanently closed ☹️ We went to try it & found that out. But we tried Chicken & Brisket, Ray's Cafe, Original House of Pancakes, Lilhia Bakery & Aloha Mamacita. All wonderful, I wish I could post all the pictures. Here's what we had at each place:

Ray's Cafe – Prime Rib & King Crab Legs

    Aloha Mamacita – Birrio Tacos

Lilhia Bakery – Prime Rib & Deluxe Cheeseburger

Chicken & Brisket – Chili cheese Brisket fries & Chicken & Brisket Plate

Original House of Pancakes – Forty Niner Flap Jack's & Ham & Eggs with pancakes

  9. Need more…or not…story on Marukai Market. When I step off the Matson ship I'm working on and don't have much time to go ashore, I always go to Marukai. I get so bummed out if I get there too late to get the cold soba bento. Usually gone before the afternoon discount time. Still, so many awesome things to score on, like fermented black garlic shoyu. Not always there, so you have to keep your eyes open when you go. But that's the story about Marukai. So many cool things, but not all the time there. But so many gems to find on any day.

BTW, you need to visit Ethel's Grill when you go back for Alicia's Market. Ethel's closes at 2:00 pm.

  10. My husband and I tried Ray’s cafe a couple weeks ago when we were visiting, we mentioned your video and funny enough a couple from Texas came in saying they wanted to try it because of your video too. We also visited a very special resort that day for our little one and saw you working, we were too shy to say hi, but hello now from California! 😊

  11. Sean I came across your channel while on YouTube. Love your content as I'm a local boy that grew up around the island and my parents live in Kaneohe now. I used to work in the Kalihi area and ate at Ray's Cafe probably 2 or 3 times a month. Your videos bring back great memories as I now live in Japan. Keep the great videos coming! You definitely got my vote and subscribe. If you ever come to Osaka in Japan hit me up and I'll show you around! …. BTW I love the way you say "tastest" 🤣🤣🤣Real pidgin to da max!

  12. Howzit Sean! I’m born and raised in Wahiawa and enjoy your videos!!! Both my wife and I are foodies too!!! We want to suggest to you to visit Romy’s Prawn and Shrimp Shack in Kahuku… they are the ONLY FRESH SHRIMP AND PRAWN eatery in Hawaii!!! They own the aqua pond rights and ONLY serve what they harvest that morning… NOTHING previously frozen! Quality Shrimps AND Prawns!!! 👍
    Keep up the GREAT works!!!

  14. Rays Cafe was the hangout back in the late 1998s until I graduated high school at Farrington High, I used to lived there by Bannister St. and Uncle Felix always gives me extra chicken and rice on my Bento.

  15. Those prices are ridiculous. $15 for the chili fries? Wtf? Those should be like $8 maximum. $12 for a desert? They have lost their damn minds.
