  1. I am author of the books: The Great Wall of Africa: The Empire of Benin’s 10,000 Mile Long Wall, The Real Wakandas of Africa and The Real Vibranium of Africa (by Maurice Miles Martinez). Most people are unaware that African people built a wall before transatlantic slavery in the Benin empire that is one of the most massive structures in the world. At 10,000 miles long, the Great Wall of Africa contains more material than all of the buildings in New York City’s Manhattan. If cut into 1 meter high blocks, it would wrap around the equator more than 65 times! It is arguably the planet’s greatest man-made structure. Yet, it has been ignored by historians. In my book The Great Wall of Africa: The Empire of Benin’s 10,000 Mile Long Wall, I explore the dimensions of the wall, the history of the Benin Empire’s Kings (Obas) and the stolen Benin Bronzes. These treasures that sit in the world’s museums amount to more than $14 Billion. Most people who read this book are left wondering why they never heard about the Great Wall of Africa in their history classes. The world needs more videos on this topic.

  2. Your images are all messed up.0 The Benin empire was in modern day Nigeria as you rightly stated so why are you showing a map of Benin Republic which is a neighbouring countyry to Nigeria?

The only connection is the name- Benin Republic used to be known as Dahomey but changed the name to Benin ss a mark of respect for the Benin empire of old. Pls be more careful about details in your videos so you dont misinform people.

  3. No mention of the millions of slaves taken for a thousand years to build the empire? Literally the entire economy of Benin was in taking and selling slaves or working them to death in the gold mines. Also they did not have the skill to smelt bronze they had to trade for it, any guess what they traded for it, slaves of course.

  4. Why are 90% of the images in this video not from Africa, let alone Benin. Even more strange is the fact that not one photo of the "Great Walls" can be produced. Utter nonsense. Do better.

  5. Without belittling your work, there is a mistake in the mapping of the ancient Benin Kingdom (EDO), you are showing the "Benin Republic" which is a neighboring country, not Benin city, please research and rectify, thank you for work.

  6. The benin empire started by a man called ogiso igodo who later name the land igodomigodo in 40bce the last ogiso is called ogiso owodo, 31 ogisos ruled the kingdom before oba dynasties started the present oba makes it the 40th oba, making it 71 Kings that have ruled the kingdom.

  7. This is a corrupted history of Ancient Benin Kingdom by adding your so-called obatala who has no blood relationship to Oba of Benin. When the so called few iyaruba became trouble to UK & Hill top of Jerusalem, UK King speak to then Oba of Benin for these warriors & daibolical means atrocities, lies & their various hand made jujus that Divine Lord God could not contents with, Divine said He regretted creating them & that they defied Him & for them to be killed. Oba Ogodo & his people & has already cross Red Sea to be shown their inheretaged.
