Throughout the episode they gather information on how Andrew handles his task list and then try to figure out which app would be best for him to use. Then we turn the…

  1. I don't want to be dramatic, but this episode may have been one of the bigger turning points in my adult life.

Move over Laine, I've got task apps to use.

  2. 1:00:57 I bet Google tries to buy companies and eventually 1 employee phones their boss and the people whoโ€™ve made an offer get a phone call. Itโ€™s only then that they realise theyโ€™ve made an offer and have been negotiating with themselvesโ€ฆthey all have a good laugh, hang up the phone and the boss immediately asks HR to inform the guy who phoned him that the company has been shut down

  3. 40:09 I really wish Apple would sort the UX out for Remindersโ€ฆin my opinion they should integrate Reminders with the Calendar App. For example, in the โ€˜Todayโ€™ view on the Calendar App Iโ€™d love to be able to simply swipe up โฌ†๏ธ and immediately find myself in a clean looking to-do app. Also any task that Iโ€™ve set as a โ€œfloating taskโ€ as I like to call them (those things that need to be done but could be pushed to tomorrow) but have not completed should automatically move themselves to the following day without prompting me

  4. Every once in a while, I see if I should try using some productivity apps. This episode thoroughly convinced me that my calendar app + paper roadmap notes are what I should stick to.

I listened to this part and noticed something. For those on Android, you can change your assistant to Gemini. Gemini can integrate with Google workspace. I just told Gemini to set a reminder to do something and was able to add it to Google tasks.

Google tasks needs to step up their game and get better. I feel like if Google tasks was as good as Tick Tick (which is what I use) then the whole AI helping you with tasks would be so much better.

  6. This is basically my struggle with apps as an ADHD person, if reminders start popping up at the wrong time and i have to babysit my todo list, i'm out ๐Ÿ˜€ I just use the notes app and have 3 categories of todo:
    Today
    Tomorrow
    Someday

  7. Google Calendar defaults are annoying. Odd alarms setup the day before but none on the day. And no way to change them in settings. I link gcal to iOS cal and created events in GCal through Apple Calendar because the default times are better

  8. This topic feels like it was created just for me. Surprised no one has mentioned ClickUp. Not what I'd recommend for this particular scenario since it can get pretty complicated and requires some upkeep.

In this situation I'd recommend just the Google calendar app + tasks + Keep.

  9. A point youโ€™re missing many companies are in the Microsoft ecosystem so outlook with Microsoft to do are really not bad . Thanks for this episode though I love your content

  10. Have you tried moleskin weekly planner ? Like pen and paper ? Dump to do list on the right then move them to days on the left. I am a techy person so if I am not using apps for this so they re still missing a lot.
