Mrs. Mellon had a style both considered and insouciant. One can’t separate it from her colossal wealth, but I don’t think that the money drove her style. Rather, it allowed her pathways to include or reject things at her whim and seemingly for her personal pleasure. Her rooms don’t seem to me to be showcases, but rather simply places she enjoyed.
Bunny Mellon is a gifted talent to be appreciated. Beautiful gardens, art, and interiors.
