Good for you Winnie! Health professionals here in the west, we always inject diet with all assessments. Most diseases especially ppl of color, have are from just eating too much and too much of the amounts of food. Beans have carbs but are metabolized more slowly and though they are protein, they are about 65% carbs. Same with potatoes and other starchy veggies. These foods you mentioned do convert to sugar and then if the sugar is not used turns to fat. And gets around the waist😮.
The foods portions are too much. And ppl are less active. Veggies, fruits and a portion of carbs are ok. But rice, plaintain, then beans is a diet that will create insulin overload while the body struggles to break all these carbs down. Sooner or later, we’ve over run the pancreas, and now here comes diabetes, the real culprit! And the way diabetes and other diseases are treated medically in Nigeria and throughout W Africa does not allow the person with options of daily blood sugar assessment. If a diabetic, the patient should be tested every 3 months checking their HA1C (hemaglobin A1C) to see how much sugar has attached to the blood cells. Diabetes causes long term diseases such as kidney failure, neuropathy in feet and hands, stroke, and a heart attack! These are guaranteed if diabetes is not treated properly and ways of eating are nit amended.
It is hard to change. But must be done if ppl want to live disease free. I am a health professional and the result of poor eating, eating too much carbs, salt and sugar will shorten life! Thank you for this and I pray those who’ve watched will take heed! Think about your children, grandchildren and family you will leave behind just because ppl are “digging their graves with their teeth.” Blessings!!
