  1. You forgot Donald Sutherland. Next to Lon Chaney, he's the best "chameleon" actor, ever. For someone with a very distinguished look about him, he can disappear with a character's persona.

  2. Brendan Fraser. When discussing actors with versatility, it's about time he's included in the conversation. His range is stunning. He can do any genre, can play good guys and bad guys. Immensely serious in one role, and madcap funny the next, and heroic in another. Drama, comedy, action, suspense, family films and very grown up films. And he is a chameleon. He slips into the skin of a character and becomes him, and truly seems like a different person from role to role. He deserves to be on a future list of versatile actors with amazing range.

  3. EXCUSE ME! ARE YOU SERIOUS HE'S AN HONORABLE MENTION!!? REALLY!!?? No. Robin Williams should have been a full blown entry on this list. Sometimes I wonder how much research and care actually goes into these lists.

  4. How did you pass Dafoe's Shadow of a Vampire performance? Hoffman's debut Scent of a Woman? and no De Niro, Hoffman, Pacino, Nicholson, Freeman? Amazing…

  5. Hannibal Lecter might be my favorite villain. He's evil, yet so charming, that I find myself rooting for him every time I watch any of the Hannibal movies. On another note the character of Vincent is my favorite Tom Cruise performance.

  6. Christian bale wasn't a good choice for Batman. Michael Keaton is better. Also Philip Hoffman is more known as Dusty from twister than the two other movies that were mentioned. i.m.o

  7. No Joaquin Phoenix? Dude is so method and dedicated he did that whole “I’m Still Here” thing where he convinced everyone he was having a full-on Charlie Sheen-level breakdown. Pretty versatile I’d say.

  8. Laurence Olivier, Alec Guinness, Anthony Hopkins, and almost every British actor you can think of.
Among the underrated ones, David Carradine. Atahualpa (in theater), Kwai Chang Caine, Woody Guthrie, Cole Younger, Bill the Snake Charmer, and more.
