George Building Collapse | Emergency Services race to rescue trapped workers


Emergency services are still looking for trapped workers following the collapse of a building under construction in the George CBD in the Western Cape. At least 40 workers are believed to have been working on the site when the building collapsed.
The multiple-storey building came crashing down this afternoon, leaving residents in shock.

  1. It is very sad and rip to those who died and hope for a dpeedy recovery to everyone else.
    I'm no construction expert but this accident reminds me of a similar one in Roodepoort a few years back where a structure also collapsed resulting in the deaths of six workers and it was found that the contractor was mixing sand with the cement causing the support pillars to crumble under load.
    Apparently the contracter was charging for two bags of cement,buying one and mixing it with sand and pocketing the money for the second one.Shameful.

  2. How can buiding collapse before it is finished what type of uselless constructors are they??? This company must be arrested how did they managed to get that tender, it's only through corruption of ANC 😢😢😢
