This Lie Can Keep You From Living Generously

In the story of the Bible, God is depicted as a generous host who provides for the needs of his guests. However, humans live from a mindset of scarcity and hoard God’s many gifts. In this video on Generosity, we explore God’s plan for overcoming our selfishness by giving the ultimate gift of himself in the person of Jesus.

  1. BibleProject creates free resources to help you experience the Bible. Everything we make is funded by generous supporters around the world. You can see our entire video library, check out our other resources, and give at bibleproject.com.

  2. There is no guarantee that you will get what you ask of Him. Salvation however, is guaranteed with penance and repentance. So its only logical to take what you need, by any means and then seek penance and repentance, He will forgive you.

  3. The explanation in the video is true but the message in the thumbnail isn't true. God does promise to meet all our need. NOT ALL WE WANT – There's a difference.
The Apostle Paul wrote "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." – Philippians 4:19.

  4. This is beautiful! This is the Kingdom of God most Christian’s don’t understand is among us. Let’s pray that we get more laborers in Jesus Name! Amen! 🙏🏽💖

  5. Amen Does the Bible condone genocide slavery, & misogyny? Probably not 🤷‍♀️

    Don't believe the sinners

    God Did NOT approve of
    *genocide ( Deut 20:16-18,)
God did NOT approve of*human sacrifice JEPHTHAH’S DAUGHTER (Judges 11:30-39,)
God did NOT approve of*sxual assault (Numbers 31: 18),
God did NOT approve of *SlaVerY (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB) (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

*and symbolic cannibalism, um Holy Communion>>

  6. JESUS lives with the conviction that there is enough ❤ HIS mindset of abundance allowed HIM to live sacrificially and generously, even towards HIS enemies.

  7. the birds dont store food, and not all of them have enough. in fact, most of them starve to death.
objectively the world just do not have enough for everyone, and lying to yourself in not going to help matters.

  8. On MrBeast’s most video (Ages 1 – 100 Decide Who Wins $250,000). There was this person who hold the number 42, and he represents the human condition to not trust God’s abundance. He was ruthless and evil, representing man’s greed and justification to trample others for the sake of self.

I do not judge the man, why? It is simply the human nature, humans are naturally born evil individuals. If I weren’t following Jesus, I would’ve done the same thing.

  9. Take care of yourself first in order to be able to be strong enough to help others.

Way better in this world of Profits.

You help and you take care of those around you.

  10. How beautiful our God is, I've wrestled with Him a lot and so much of it was due to this lie that I believed but today, let heaven and earth record that I accept and choose to believe the Truth that God my Father is a generous God and He is not holding out on me, I will live in His generosity by His grace in Yeshua HaMashiach's name amen ❤️‍🔥☦️🩸🙏 thank you blessed people ❤️‍🔥🙏

  11. ”Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes].“ James‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  12. Seriously you guy's and your videos are so Cool!….. Maybe just maybe, because they're are reflection of the Lord of 'Hosts' ? 😅😅😅
    Sorry had to do it!
    God bless you guy's!

    🙏♥️🇮🇱🇺🇲🐣

  13. BS. This is why Socialism is a common theme for any religious groups. A government that spreads word of generosity and equality. Generosity out of the people who worked harder or risked more to earn more just to give to those who risked or sacrificed less. If everyday is a party, no one works just like how maoists are promised they will never work in their farmlands for those greedy elites, only for them to be forced at gunpoint to to work for "the greater good of society"

  14. Your god can't even feed the people it supposedly created. 25,000 people a day die from simple hunger, 10,000 are innocent children. 28,000 die a miserable death every day from just cancer alone. This is because there is no god. It makes no sense that an all powerful god is out there. It makes no sense that an all powerful god needs people like you to sell it to other people. If you actually represented an all knowing deity, your arguments and explanations of this god would be air tight and unrefutable. Instead your explanation and video is lame and full of holes because no all powerful god exists.

  15. I agree with everything you said, but I can well imagine prosperity gospel heretics also saying 'yes and amen' to what you say here.
"And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”"

  16. I think Gary North’s work on economics is helpful to see the connection between faith and works here.

Boyer’s “Jesus and the Makes and the Takers” (Google- I think I’m a bit off in the title) gets at some really neat geographic details on Jesus’ economic parables; as he goes to state money in Jerusalem, he has negative metaphors, but as he goes north his metaphors commend entrepreneurial stewardship.

  17. Yes! As Jesus said: "I've come down from heaven to give abundant Life to the world." (John 6:33) In other words, He solved the scarcity problem 2000 years ago. We must believe in Him more than we believe in our circumstances.

  18. "And all these things shall be added unto you"
You forgot that God did actually promise to provide enough if you seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.

  19. You can't help others if you have nothing yourself. Learn good financial literacy skills, build wealth, and give generously. Its the wealthy who provide the money and resources needed to help the poor.
