  1. this dish is 100% north african/arab food..it is NOT turkish. some videos and restaurants claim this is "turkish" but it's wrong information..turkish don't have a delicious food like this in their cuisine, turkish food is horrible!

  2. Had a really late start but was able to make this dish for Sunday night, though it was quite late when I finished It tonight. I read you can make this with Beef or Lamb and went with Beef since couldn’t really get the lamb I needed at grocery. I really just followed the video for recipe and used my intuition for rough measurement. I could have thickened it a bit more at the end but it was after midnight and late. Used can Chickpeas in last 20 mins since forgot to presoak some ahead of time. So had the Mermez with some Basmati Rice and definitely had the flavors of North Africa. I really like this and think I’ll keep it as a dish to revisit soon.

  3. The dish looks good, Chickpeas & Lamb stew. Very simple the way I see it. Flavorful dish. I’m gonna resist the first time trying it as per video recipe to not throw some Rosemary, Thyme, Bayleaf in it. I think 🤔 I’ll try it next time I do a lamb dish. I’ll put it on the menu for this weekend maybe.
