  3. Three years ago i noticed my forehead and back of hands getting darker than normal. Just thought it was too much sun. Now my face and hands are very dark and everyone is tripping on it. Feeling super insecure about now.

  4. I have this on my neck, tummy and pits and im pretty sure its because i gained a lot of weight in the past few years. In 2019 i was around 150 and now in 2024 im close to 250

  5. Im 10 years old and i have this on my back the the patch on the back is very big and i have one on my chest close to my belly button it like a line

  6. I got it about a few months ago on the outside of my upper arm, I do suffer from Hypothyroidism but I take daily meds to treat it and my sugar levels are normal so why not be able to get rid of it?

  7. This definitely helps me understand what I have. I am 30 years and been bullied for body odors for years.

I graduated in 2012 and went to college. In 2014 I was in my 6th term of medical assistant where I noticed the first dark mark behind my neck appeared. This caused my class and one of my professor to bully me. But it was able to be scrubbed away. I ended up dropping out and moved in with my gram after being kicked out of my parents house. For some time the darkness left but it appeared on my arm in small patches and gradually got worse every time until you could see a difference. I did bath regularly. I went and got checked once and a PA told me he didn't see anything when it was clear the color was there. I ended up seeing my normal doctor who believed it may have been a fungal infection but it wasnt. Me and my gram thought perhaps it was just my body reacting differently being away from the stressors that I left behind. But after some time It left again.

In 2015 I met my husband and got married in 2018. In 2017 when me and my husband were trying to conceive I was diagnosed with PCOS and my husband was sterile. But the patches left or so I thought. i bathed regularly and I'm only 300 pounds. I do work which has constant exercise as I worked doing custodial job for schools where I got bullied by coworkers over the odor and threatened to lose my job if I couldn't get it under control. Now as I work for cleaning busses I am still facing the issue. I noticed the darkness was under my arms and it looked like it's been like that for years. It's gotten so bad I can't wear deodorant of any kind. At first I thought perhaps the stress it caused that other similar condition called Dermatitis Neglecta but the way the symptoms didnt match up. But when I found this condition it made more sense especially with me suffering PCOS.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this and helping me understand more. I am glad I'm not the only one suffering like this as I know many of you probably face the same issues with bullies and coworkers.

  8. Thank you for this excellent resource. One thing about malignant acanthosis nigricans I would add; this progresses very rapidly, and usually occurs in patients who aren't obese and have no reason to be diabetic. You also tend to get mucosal involvement of the mouth and lips much more commonly with malignant acanthosis nigricans. It usually occurs in older adults and the cancer may be causing other skin conditions too.

  9. Hi again I'm back after 7 months I've finally lost weight I'm the kid who commented i got bullied now the darkening is gone!! So i hope that you guys will continue your diet! Lose- 12 kg

  10. My dark patches went away after starting the carnivore diet. I did keto for 5 weeks and decided to cut out plants because I had dry, itchy skin. The dry, itchy skin immediately went away after going carnivore. A few weeks later, the dark skin patches started fading.
