I just used this technique for my wildflowers in a dry sandy spot I got. Seems to be working!
fantastic
Idk I don’t like humanity messing with Mother Nature. Everything is the way it is on earth for a reason. It’s a part of the massive ecosystem and everything is intertwined. This reminds me of UAE doing cloud seeding to increase water supply and they ended up flooding their homes and destroying their towns and cities
It's super cute to think the UN is doing this. What a lot of people fail to realize is that as the globe warms, specifically as more CO2 is released into the atmosphere, the less hard plants need to work to 'breathe'. That means plants closer to deserts can open their pores less to breathe, meaning they retain more moisture, meaning they can encroach further into the desert.
Meaning global warming, this "terrible thing" all the zoomers think will kill them is actually making the earth greener. 15% of the area of the earths surface is now green when it was previously desert, in just the last 20 years. Yeah an area the size of the continental united states, that USED TO BE DESERT is now green, thanks to this terrible climate crisis.
Some of us are old enough to remember the ice age that was going to kill us all. Stop being bullied by idiots that think global warming is a threat with literally 0 actual proof.
wow, one point for the UN. keep it up. btw, would love to see the itemized bill for that LOL
They are scammers
Wow…such a beautiful thing to see. Very creative at very low cost. This should be adapted all across Africa….
NO chance ! lack of CO2 and nitrogen, in order to grow plants
POV: you put 1 grass block in your mass of dirt blocks
This is awesome.
This changes my opinion of the U.N. Good job!
They have cellphones but still use horse drawn carriages: Found their problem. Consumerism has taken over the planet.
I wonder what animals you could bring in that would dig burrows and help move the soil arround.
It's sad that Africans can't do anything for themselves and need the rest of the world to show them how to live
Like Holes but with a happy ending.
Climate change, the melting of ice will change it again into ocean as it once was. Nevertheless, I applaud the effort.
but how are you gonna keep all the green nice stuff if its not raining enought
Thank you Andrew and Team for publishing this video. Keep up the great work !
Some good learnings for Australia here !
Finally someone who doesn't think building asphalt roads is the "save Africa" solution like the big organization still think. Should have links to sending donations for this education to continue, or I'm lost not finding them 🙂
Imagine if these billionaires got out of trying to control our lives in the name of saving the planet and actually did something to save the planet. Invest their wealth in these projects, hospitals, infrastructure in places like this. The world could be a better place without us needing to eat bugs etc…
Don't settle for this, tell them all to accept Christianity, otherwise it will again used for killing non piecefools, this cult book teaches to be ungrateful, backstabber.
one hot summer and all their hard work is up in flames
Turns out ancient people had a clue what they were doing when it came to farming. I would expect nothing less from our ancestors who spent thousands of years farming and expanding the green to places it was previously not… life and death matter to those folks.
Look what humanity can achieve together
Very good initiative 👍👍
So white people gave them farmland that wasn't even there. Maybe time for Africa to take care of itself and stop begging for free shit
Not to mention the oxygen that will be produced.
Honestly, Africa is one of the most fertile parts of the world, the fact that African people haven't been able to make use of that land tells you everything you need to know.
I remember seeing a video about the great green wall almost 10 years ago. It was more of a trailer for what’s about to come. At the time, there were no other infos on it though, so I thought that it was just the result of the imagination of some random YouTuber.
Really glad to discover this video and seeing the project being successful. Gives me hope!
where does that sand go then?
Fun fact; Sahara translates to desert
