30 Rock wasn't a prediction. It was Tina Fey telling people. The Parks and Rec should have been number 1. IPad and Google glass got the ideas from these shows. They weren't predicted, they were taken
So the Simpsons are to blame for our current mess.
Back to the Future the movie also predicted the Cubs Win.
I don't know if I'd call the tech from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine as "predicting the future." More like they inspired the people who created the iPad and the Google Glass. Just like the flip phone being similar to the communicator in the original series.
Someone else had already predicted what could happen after the truck bomb in 1993 at the World Trade Center. He'd even been consulted about what might happen. Rick Rescorla had been concerned about security at the WTC after Pan Am flight 103 was bombed over Lockerbie, Scotland and asked a friend who had trained in counterterrorism & he suggested a possibility in 1990 that took place in 1993, with the truck bomb. And his friend, Daniel Hill suggested exactly what happened on 9/11 on a visit in 1993. Rescorla had tried to get the company he worked for, Morgan Stanley to relocate their offices out of the WTC, so it's possible that the writers for the Lone Gunmen had heard of him & the possibility of that kind of attack.
The first episode of Sliders also predicted a virus, or we must has moved to another unvierse.
So glad to see the Berlin Wall in this list, but it should have been #1…. They called the exact year of something no one thought would ever happen!
How did these producers, Show-Runners, Actors, and even DIRECTORS even know what was going to happen in the future of our world anyway?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
You're thinking they predicted the future, I'm thinking they just gave people ideas…
Don't forget Star Trek: TOS and the flip phone and the eventual smartphone.
What's the name of the background music?
Rugrats 1991 predicated the future
Star Trek did more inspiring than it did predicting with regard to technology. But that rocket prediction is pretty compelling.
16:20 Yeardley Smith for President 2028
0:58 Actually, the TV series The Dead Zone episode 14 of season 2, titled "Plague," (which aired in 2003), predicted the Covid pandemic well before the show Supernatural. 😏
Soooooo we're just gonna ignore that Back To The Future predicted The Cubs win LONG before Parks and Rec huh?
Back to the Future called the Cubs thing about 20 years earlier.
you cant include something that can be invented by nerds who watched star trek….thats NOT a prediction.
The smart watch and tablet were predicted by Penny, from Inspector Gadget. And credit to KITT for self driving cars; just waiting for the app on my watch
It was also mentioned in Back to the Future part 2 about the Cubs winning the World Series. I’m sure it was even though I haven’t seen the film in a while.
In Deus Ex, the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center are notably absent from the New York City skyline. This omission was due to memory constraints during development, but it was later explained in-game that the towers had been destroyed in a terrorist attack15. This narrative became eerily prophetic, as the game was released just a year before the actual events of September 11, 2001
What about Back to the Future predicting that the Cubs would win the World Series in 2015? They were only off by 1 year!
Back To the Future predicted the Chicago Cabs winning the world series against Miami back in Back To the Future 2. before parks and recreation did.
Cubs deserved that 108 year drought.
Please par these lists down. It's reaching. Epidemiologists have said for years a big pandemic is inevitable. If they don't predict the year or circumstances, it's just luck. Thousands of predictions, some are bound to end up happening.
Back to the Future II also predicted the Cubs would win the World Series in 2015, just one season early.
You can't really call it predicting when shows come up with the ideas which inspire inventors to make the items.
