  8. The stand rule for me in doing business Nigeria is: 1) As business owner you must be on Ground, for day to day management and control.
    2) Payment in and out is controlled and approve by yourself, whatever you do, don't delegate that part of your business.
    3) Constantly look out for loop holes, such as where dubious and crafty employees are likely to steal from the business. Trust me i have been there and seen it all. For example, i know someone who was running hotel, the staffs he employed were snicking in there own drinks and food to sell to the hotel visitors/customer, while the food and drinks provided by their employer that should generate revenue for the hotel owner are just sitting on the shelf and in the kitchen unsold. Another example was with a friend who had franchise from Mr Bigs, the caterers were making their own snack foods from home and selling under the cater in the absence of the business owner.
    4) Build check and balances in every stage and section of your business, avoid trowing in blanc trust, make them earn it, even at that let it be superficial.
    5) If can established all payments are done electronically

  9. Family running your stuff can be quite the challenge but if you can best to get a professional to run your stuff. Yes it may cost you more upfront but in the long run saves you tears and worry and you can legally take them up unlike with family .
If you must deal with family, do up a contract and pay them well so they are not looking with hungry eyes how to chop 🤣
