  2. The Panasonic Lumix ZS60 is a bit older but has a 24-720mm equivalent lens in the same size body as the ZS200D. I have it, and it takes great photos with good light. I have all black but there's a version with silver at the top, which gives that touch of vintage look.

  3. Very tight video. Once you start spending a grand, then it's time to think about used cameras. But the best pics I've taken were always because I had my camera with me. For the last week, I've been posting on my Facebook Vintage Camera group one pic a day from my Canon Elph 310..I have a pile of Fuji X gear with new and vintage glass, but I'm not taking it out. (Good reasons I don't need to get into) The 310 has an 8x optical, IBIS, 1080p video, 12 meg pics. Winners. And who doesn't love the macro on these old cameras? Just keep pocket lint off your zoom lenses, people. It gets sucked back to the sensor and you can't remove it.

  4. Nothing but Olympus Tough TG-6 for me: sand, dirt, water, rough handling do not matter. Which means: I have it with me. Since I own it, I go out on purpose to take pictures in "unfriendly" weather and under extreme conditions. Lots of fun, and testing my own limits. This camera is a rugged working horse. Not comparable to the other cameras.

  5. The Sony A7c II should be equal #1, because it’s volume is smaller than the R50 but it’s FULL FRAME with a whopping 33MP sensor. This allows heavy cropping that effectively increases the focal length of your lens. Using APS-C mode you’ll still get a 14MP image.

Its disadvantage is it’s heavier because of its metal body, but that means it’s more robust.

  6. great video. My Canon G16 is due for a replacement after more than a decade and more than a 100,000 photos and your simple, straight-forward and practical explanation made my decision both easier and a bit more complicated given the features available. thanks so much

  7. I am looking for a lightweight and compact camera to use on high altitude expeditions in the Himalayas. and I am expecting to get good quality photos and videos of other mountains from the top of the summit. Canon M 50 mirrorless, Fujifilm x100v, Canon R50 or Sony RX100 . which would be a great? I'll be very grateful if you guide me. Thank you.

  8. I think this is the most helpful video I've seen on the topic. I'm looking to buy a compact digital camera but had no idea where to start – I can't wait to look into these. Thank you so much!

  9. Great video!! But I need a budget compact camera video price range of $200-$500 there's no way I'm spending $800-$1250 for a compact when a Nikon z30 and Sony Alpha6000 are
    $700

  10. Do you know a camera similar to the R50 that is protected / sealed from weather.
I'd like to continue my recordings even if it rains or is there any hacks for it?
Thanks for your videos, you explain well for beginners like myself.

  11. What best compact camera for good instagrammable photos can you recommend ? I don’t really have a great knowledge about cameras, looking for help here, thankksss. I’m planning to Buy canon g7x mark3 but idk if its worth it

  12. Bro. I spent way too much time thinking of a guy over 220lbs coming in to test sitting on the camera trying to break it. Like at a test lab… Then 225 lbs guy comes in and pop breaks it. Test complete 😅. I don't actually think that's how they test the cameras tho 😅

  13. After watching your videos I decided to biy the R50 and wow that was a good and nice surprise of quality pictures, color IA en excelent options in A+ modo like tint, temp, luminance etc etc I just have to compose my picture and let the camera do the magic in A+, thanks bro

  14. Instead of the R50 I bought a used M50. It’s cheap and they made some awesome lenses for it including a very sharp 22mm f2 pancake lens. And you can adapt EF lenses to it – although it gets a little bigger then. With the pancake its small, though barely pocketable.
